I stopped right before Seekers came out. I have 99 whm, smn, bst, sch, and brd, and was working on blm. I obviously don't have any of the big new gear that came out since the expansion, and my gears were mediocre to decent before the expansion. I was able to solo a little bit with smn and bst but I was more comfortable duo'ing or trio'ing content.
Is any of the old stuff like Abyssea, neo-dynamis, neo nyzul/salvage still done, or does the new stuff completely replace its gear rewards?
Were there any big changes made to any of these jobs since the expansion, and would I be able to get groups for content without having any of the big new stuff?

Good bit of it is not so important now other then a couple macro pieces and thamus(sp) body is still a good piece. If your good at whm and have a good cure pot set and refresh ideal set you should be able to get into current endgame pretty easy, brd you need a emp/relic harp/horn for most shout groups but if your in a LS they might let you ride along. Then there is RoE that just came out that is a great starting point that you can solo easy and get you to a point where you can get caught up just look at one of the couple of threads on the front page about it to get a idea.
Do Records of Eminence. Get trust NPCs for ********* around. Equip yourself with ROE weapons/gear do Imprimaturs in Adoulin to raise your "fame" with the different organizations. Get in a skirmish group to get that armor and lots of bayld.
