Having multiple linkshellsFollow

#1 Jan 14 2014 at 6:35 PM Rating: Good
Is anyone against this?

In this day and age, i dont see what the big deal is.

I have a social linkshell, where ill do somethings with friends, and then i have an event linkshell, where people take the game more serious and plan things every week.
Theres just not enough people on our servers anymore.

Reasonable people shouldn't care. Tight-fisted tyrants that claim it shows disloyalty or something really need to get over themselves.

In the past I think those rules were sort of like a non-compete clause. These days there's nothing to compete with other shells over.

HNM timers were basically the "secrecy" aspect of it and it wasn't uncommon for shells to put them in their lsmes. However, getting a timer was never really all that difficult and just remotely searching DA/BD/VoS and suddenly seeing dozens of people in zone was also a good indicator of a window. Take it a step further and pay attention to people pre-buffing and you could likely narrow things down to within 5 minutes without being there the day before. Eventually, people just started parking (tele-hacked) mules in the odd event they lost ToD or lacked manpower at a given hour.

Over time, I know I wound up doing things with people across various endgame shells on Fairy. It wasn't that I chose to be disloyal to TG, but simply that attempts to organize things exclusively with other members didn't always work. Did this technically make rival shells stronger while improving myself? Yes. Should I have just sat there twiddling my thumbs and getting nothing done? Honestly, anyone who told me to do that can **** off. We all knew that when it came to time to camp, the lines were drawn, though. Well, at least until I wound up having a couple someones in TG literally compete against me for Simurgh when I was trying to nab some Trotter's and had been keeping ToD for about a week. Still miffs me that no punishment came of that, but I guess them's the perks of *** kissing.

Just one more way that the "good old days" weren't so good.
