Wrapping up some Empys to 90Follow

Here's my story:

I have Ukon (2/75), Kannagi (0/75), Armaggeddon (16/75) and Almace (2/75) to hit 90 and I don't feel like recamping NMs/VNMs for them and I would rather use the WoE 99 items (coins/dices/residues) to upgrade faster some other empys WS... Question is, as a soloer(worst case), what would be the best way to farm those empy 90 items? I have Nin, Pup, Run, War, Thf, Dnc, Bst, Smn, Mnk, Blu that could do them to kill trigger NM and NM. I know I can hit all procs except Freezebite on Nin and can hit all but katana/GKT on Run but are they easily soloable without any support now?

Coins will be available in the next repeat login campaign, so that should help.

NIN will be your best overall bet, yeah, because of red procs. Nab the katana and dagger from RoE and you should be kicking ***.

I don't know about all the relevant mobs being easy fights without any support. A properly outfitted NIN does not need a whole lot of upkeep, though.

During free time I was debating trying to solo Apa as a RDM/DRK with the RoE gear, but never got around to it. Either way, you're probably looking at 35+ of each of NM before repeats like with Almace and Kannagi. Would be curious to see how it goes.

Well I have 15 mules on my main account so I'll be getting quite a few coins/dices/residues for some WoE 99 weapons with Login Campaign 7 but since i'm a cheap guy, probably gonna do the easy VNM jobs ones so I can make as much as 3 weapons by campings NMs compared to 1 weapon without any trials ;) but for the Empy that are still 85, might as well 90 them because they will take an inventory slot anyway compared to 2 with a WoE 99 unless I throw it out xd

Pretty confident I can do Nin/war on trigger NMs with lvl 117-119 gear, just debating if I should go for safer ways with Bst TH1 or try Pup/thf or Run/thf with TH2 (sadly sold my TH belt one morning I was sleepy coming back from a worm party :S)(TH3 if I get lucky enough again)...Granted the only one that really benefits the WS ******* is Ukko's Fury, rest are Skillchains or diversity WS :P

Also planning on WoE 99ing GKT, H2H, dagger, GS, polearm, axe, scythe and bow by doing NM trials, maybe do staff/club as well with Trust x3 + Epilleve NPCs if all goes well!

I unlocked Ukko's Fury and I think I did like 1.5k dmg using BloodBath Gaxe on a lv106 bird. Maybe my Warrior is too weak but I only see 4~5k+ damages in campaign battles.

My attempted at camping NMs for WOE weapon cost me 2 hours of waiting and only 1 NM. I hope your experiences will be better than mine. I ended up farming in dynamis for gil and spam WOE for pouches. I sold whatever I managed to get from WOE to NPC or AH and sent all the logs to my woodworking mule. I only got Great Axes, H2H and Bow unlocked for the moment and I lost about 4mil gil since I bought more than I farmed.

What kind of bird are we talking here? A few of them have slashing resistance and can account somewhat for poor GA damage.

I believe it was Tulfaire birds. I suspect it was due to my lack of proper equipments. I just grabbed whatever that I could equip from Moogle; a mix of Cizin and Mikinaak and pretty much all the gear I use for Ruinator and gave it a try.

Yeah, I think those have slashing resistance too (they're definitely weak to piercing), so they'd be like rocs in that sense.

I hope so, maybe I will try again and run some tests on them when I have time. I used Mnk on them and Mnk did just fine so there shouldn't be any blunt resistance like Roc but there might be slashing resistance. For order of importance in unlocking, I think Sword > Bow > H2H > Katana > GAxe > GKatana > everything else?

One consideration is the relative annoyance of popping the item NM. To me, it's enough of a hassle building an Apademak pop that I'd make Kannagi/Almace my priorities for just buying/farming/Login Campaigning WoE items. Armageddon, on the other hand, is by far the easiest 85-90 NM. One 10min timed pop, get red, pop Isgebind. I did mine dualbox NIN+WHM in a pretty short time. Not to mention you already have a little more head start there. So I'd do that one to 90 just because it's fairly painless.

I'm in the same boat with an 85 Kannagi @ 0/75 Apademak horns. I intend to just rely on the Login Campaign to help me out on WoE items, then buy the rest from bazaars at what I expect will be significantly lower prices than today given the new influx of freebies.

Is Chant worth a lot of effort? I had read it doesn't usually outperform Requi...

I mean I'm sure it's good for diversity's sake but I'm casual so I'd rather not put the time into it if its just an occasional situationally useful WS but if it outclasses Requi most of the time that would be different.

Are any of the empy WS must have? They all look kind of so-so without the aftermaths

I don't have CDC but I heard from some people that if you are fighting something with high def and you have low atk buff then Req is better. However, if you are soloing or in a situations with a fair bit of Atk buff then CDC has an edge.

Ukko's seems like it would still be nice, Rudra's is nice for stacked WS on THF and DNC, Wildfire in certain instances is decent instead of last stand.

Req has an -ATK penalty, which generally makes it worse if you're fighting something that already has high defense. There's also the issue that if it is high defense, then it's probably higher evasion, as well, which hurts both WS since they're mult-hitters. Req needs to land more than CDC, though. Ultimately, the issue gets a bit more complex if you're talking about ilvl Almace with AM or not. A good CDC build will probably outperform on weaker prey thanks to overwhelming DEX. More moderate stuff will wind up being situational, with Req having the advantage if the mob has some kind of slashing resistance or crit defense. If it's really tough, the jobs that can use either likely aren't being looked at for their DPS contributions via sword. PLD just needs to do enough to tank. BLU has spells to fall back on. RDM just gets laughed at anyway. Were I to rank efficacy due to gear/trait options, CDC would be BLU > PLD > RDM while Req would be PLD = BLU > RDM.

Either way, the Apa path is probably the worst of the Emps. Azdaja gets some honorable mention for Ochain, but it's not as hard to pop, I feel, and was generally less contested.

Well Requiescat is like Resolution, meaning that if you have enough buffs to overcome the attack penalty, it has the highest damage potential ;p

I thought req ignored defense like that other sword ws...or was it elemental damage?

The penalty is 20/10/0% at 100/200/300 TP. Ultimately, overcoming it becomes more a matter of debuffs present on harder prey.

And it ignores special immunities. Well, not all, but it'd do its expected damage to a slime, for example, instead of taking a damage cut.

I've never particularly liked Requiescat except on mobs where its special properties actually allowed it to do better damage than most physical ws. Never got what the big deal about this ws was otherwise. Definitely been more impressed with CDC overall.

I'm not 100% sure, but it ignores things even like Invincible. I'm almost positive that I've done damage to a pld mob even if they used their 2hour.

It says it does nonelemental damage which essentially means "I'm not physical damage", so yeah, I would hope it ignores Invincible

Requiescat has nicer skillchain properties for Chain affinity and isn't affected by critical hit resistance of some monsters compared to Chant du Cygne xd
