Making Money in the New EconomyFollow

So, I've been back for about a month and have been focusing on leveling my characters. In the course of doing so, I'm starting to run low on funds. I've also noticed that many of the old ways of making gil don't appear to net much (e.g. D cloths are pretty much worthless now).

Any suggestions on making gil in the newer economy? I do have cooking at 39 and could do some farming if certain materials were in high demand, but I just don't know what is popular anymore.

Thanks for any help!

Buy some sickles, go to Bhafflau Thickets, and harvest. The harvesting points are conveniently gathered in a little circle that you can run in 5 minutes. Your target is Imperial Tea Leaves. They're roughly 300k per stack on my server, they sell quickly, and you can harvest 2 stacks in an hour easily.

Used to be my favorite past time place to farm back when ToAU was released, I remember harvest there for hours before I learned about khorma ore. Nice to see that its still viable for some.

Some more current suggestions:

Coins/Dice/Residue from Walk of Echos are big sellers right now, due to people unlocking WoE weaponskills. There are ppl in there 24/7 spamming it, so even if you can't solo it, you can just follow a group around and ride their coat-tails. As long as you contribute something while inside, you'll grt access to a loot chest at the end. All of those items are selling for 50k or more each, and if you spend an hour or two in there you can come out with quite a few (especially if you get lucky with pouches.)

R/M/E upgrade items are a huge money-maker right now too. Join some fracture runs and pick those as your seacom item.

After all this time, dynamis currency is still a very viable income too. Just gotta learn how to farm it effectively.
