Soloing My Way to SeaFollow

So, I recently came back from a long hiatus. Played 2002-2008, then came back for a month in 2010 and now am back again (just to give you an idea of what I have experienced). I have my RDM and BLU up to 85 and just finished my limit to get up to 90 (and will get up to 95 right after).

I'm loving BLU, especially many of the new spells available, but I never got sea access before (so I'm missing Disseverment, Actinic Burst, Plasma Charge, etc.). I've read that it is relatively easy to solo my way to sea, but based on my research it didn't look like it.

Any thoughts on me doing this solo and how long it should take to get it done? I'm currently on 5-1 (Promy Vahzl).

Thanks!

A level 99 character (especially a BLU) can solo the whole thing easily. The only exception is when you do the Sacrarium mission you need two characters to touch 2 spots in 2 different places at the same time. I've heard people had success standing by the first spot, unplugging their network cable, quickly touching the first spot and running to and touching the second spot, then reconnecting the network cable to trick the server into thinking both action happened at the same time.

I went from Sacrarium mission to finishing CoP in a few days after the level cap was first raised. We were all between 75-80 (me on blu) and it wasn't too bad. Think we messed up the tenzen fight once, but for the most part those 1-5 extra levels made a huge difference. Did the tenzen fight again at 99 BLU and completely overkilled him by hitting my 2-hour and going to town.

Just use caution against Omega; Pile Pitch (HP to critical, reduced by -PDT gear) still sucks as much as ever if it hits.

I'm guessing you don't play BLU. If a mob can be stunned, headbutt and sudden lunge can make the fight a joke once you establish the right rhythm. It feels like SE created this job specifically to make CoP your *****. Smiley: smile

Even at 75, taking my BLU through CoP felt unfair. Head Butt was the CoP nerf everyone needed, not that uncapping nonsense.

IIRC all but Disseverment can be gotten in abyssea areas and that can be skipped now if you don't mind not having it(really I haven't set it since the heroes came out. Though if you can get one other person to help on some of the mission it's a cake walk at 99. Also idk if you know this but they changed blus 2 hour to act like a 30 sec CA so can make a pretty massive skillchain like Xabtav did.

Actually, I prefer somebody who hasn't played BLU over one that leveled it just so they could hit weakness in abyssea (then complained about the time they wasted getting proc spells that were later removed). The job is my first love, so it pains me to see those who don't get all spells and run around in mp+ gear.

But that is a rant for another topic and has nothing to do with getting sea.

I'm all jobs 99 with all of them in at least a competently playable state, so no. I still don't assume that everyone else has a job able to completely break the fight, though. I know many people that cannot stand playing BLU, many of them because they don't have the patience for its spell-learning mechanic.

I only gave the warning I did because I lazily went in there on my WHM once (post-Abyssea, pre-Adoulin), expecting to still be able to stomp it easily. I got Pile Pitched and enstunned to death, to my embarrassment from the guy I was trying to help.

When people say "solo" they still have issues with sacrarium and turning 2 keys at the same time to get to the main room for cs.

Omega is very easy on bst.
Dipper or Falcorr do well on it and you can sit back and watch it all happen without doing very much.

Same for Tenzen later on but the NM fights for 8.1 where you have x3 NMs spawn at each tower can be a bit tricky without help but that's only because you need to get them off you in a very short time.
