Trying to return... POL vs. SE Account IssuesFollow

I've searched, both on this site and Google, and can't find an answer. I've even waited on the chat for hours, many times to see my number in the queue increase, but be greeted with a "closed" sign.

I played a lot early on until 2009. Started again in fall 2010 and stopped in Jan 2011. I wanted to get going again, so I booted up POL on my PC and got greeted with an error LM-24 saying I needed a SquareEnix account. Odd thing is that I have my SE account ID tagged on my POL login. Now, I get into POL fine by logging in (right before I get the error), but on the SE website it says my password is incorrect when I try to transfer the POL account to SE.

Does this have to do with my account being suspended or something like that? I was hoping it just had something to do with the fact I've been inactive a few years.

Sorry if this sounds like a drunken ramble... had to drink some cask strength Macallen tonight after all of the frustration with SE chat support...

So, just to be sure I've got this right:

1) you have the right username/password to get through the POL login but you get the LM-24 once you've logged in and can't do anything else, but at least it seems to show your POL login credentials are right.

2) you have an active SE account and you say this is 'tagged on your POL login: I'm not sure what you mean by 'tagged on'.

3) you get an error when you try to transfer the POL account to SE saying the credentials are wrong; by which I presume you mean you're going through the 'linking' process as SE calls it when you attach an existing POL account with an SE account.

See, point (3) contradicts (2) but is consistent with the LM-24 in (1).

Have you more than one POL account, because right now what you're describing seems impossible with just one POL ID.

When I go to log in, it shows my SE ID on the POL login screen so I assumed that they were linked. But when I go to my SE account page it says I have nothing linked.

It is possible that I don't have the right password when trying to link on the SE website, but I'm able to get past the login page in POL before getting the error (is it possible I'm getting the error with the wrong password?).

I only have 1 POL, but had to go through character recovery after my account was hacked. Think that could have screwed anything up?

So far I've spent about 5 hours waiting for chat only to be told there is nobody available. Frustrated.

Also, I wasn't reall sure what to do. I tried to add a POL account using my POL registration but it said it was already being used. So I wonder if my account got stolen again or if it got linked tona different account durin my last restoration.

It didn't get stolen. The problem lies with transfer process. You need to contact support.

This happened to me. No matter what, the SE account thing would not recognize my POL ID, and it made me wonder was it because the ID was so old lol. I didn't contact them because I was moving on to FFXIV anyway.

Just keep trying to reach them.
