Hello, Fujito here.

I’d like to introduce some future plans that were mentioned during Vana TV Festival 2013, which was broadcast the other day!

All of these plans are currently under development and being tested heavily, so please note that there is a possibility that changes take place.

Future Plans for Mog Gardens

â—†STEP 1

• Delivery feature
We will be adding a delivery feature to Mog Gardens.
We'll also be adding this convenient feature to Mog Houses as well.

• Party invites
We’ll be making it possible to invite friends over to your Mog Gardens.
As this feature will just make it possible to spend time with your friends, you won’t be able to put the party members you invite to your Mog Gardens to work for you.

• Addition of seeds and fertilizers
We will be adding new seeds and fertilizers.

• Seasonal event goodies
We’re planning to make it possible to do different things to go along with the various seasons. For example, growing Christmas trees in your field for Christmas time.

• Addition of items that can be exchanged with “Shining Stars”
We’re currently looking into cosmetic equipment such as overalls with straw hats and weapons in the shape of farming tools that can be purchased with “Shining Stars.”
Additionally, we are looking into having a limited time event that doubles the amount of “Shining Stars” gained.

â—†STEP 2

• Monster raising
Back when we were calling Mog Gardens, "Back on the Ranch," we wanted to enable you to raise baby sheep, etc. We're looking into this once again.

â—†STEP 3

• Addition of new assistants
We would like to add new NPCs that act as assistants for you. We’re planning a small Qiqirn NPC.

New Content for Soloers or Low-man Parties

• Content focused on all of Vana’diel
We are planning to expand content first to original areas and Adoulin areas, and then, with the updates to follow, expand to even more locations. In the future we plan on focusing on all areas.

• Content for soloers and low-man parties
There will be content that can be completed solo as well as content which can be completed more easily if you form a party. There will be various types of content, so even if you are not too proficient at fighting solo, you’ll be able to enjoy playing solo by selecting content that is right for you.

• Preparation of a large amount of achievements, where the rewards get increasingly better over time
We are planning content where you can receive rewards for completing objectives and receive even higher-tier rewards for completing multiple objectives.

• Repeatable content
While it won’t be for everything, the content we introduce can be repeated over and over.

• Content that is over quickly, content that requires time, and content that requires luck
We are planning content that you can choose depending on what’s right for you at the time, so if one day you don’t have much time you can play certain content easily and quickly, while on the other hand if you have more time to spare you can take on content that requires a bit more time to play through.

Future Plans for Equipment

• Addition of equipment variations
We’d like to increase the amount of equipment choices such as marksmanship weapons for thief, daggers for red mage, which current gear has not covered well, and new equipment such as grips with delay +.

• Relic, mythic, and empyrean weapon revamps
• Unlocking empyrean weapons skills
• Artifact revamps
Sorry to keep you all waiting on this without giving a time-frame, but for the above three points we are currently making preparations to implement all of them simultaneously in the version update to take place in fall.

For the artifact equipment revamps, we are planning to make it so you can bring artifact equipment up to the standards of geomancer and rune fencer artifact equipment. Hang in there for more information related to the quests for this.

this is groovy stuff

I'm particularly curious about the Artifact revamps. I assume they'll upgrade them to equal level as Rune Fencer and Geomancer's, and hopefully, besides just increased Def and stats, they may also improve the potency of some of the job ability and job trait effects.

I like the part about New content where they say a lot without giving any actual information.

Regardless of the lack of concrete info, this is all really good stuff -- I'm looking forward to the direction the game as a whole is going now. New UI, revamped and additional content.... Nice!

Wanna take a wild guess at one of the biggest reasons XIV 1.0 choked to death on lag?

I guess I am the only one looking forward to the straw hats and overalls.

I've been thinking a lot about this lately.
Since you can already upgrade AF to +1 via Limbus currancy (ABC's) and collecting the requested items that Sagheera asks you for, (Cosmo Cleanse lady) it would be cool if they decide to add a +2 that could bring it to 99 and a +3 that could bring it up to ilvl standard.

It may well give a renewed interest in Limbus as giving in to the possibility of adding new items to the loot pools if they wanted to or add a "skip trial" option like they did for Dynamis relic gear by asking for an increased amount of items or currancy to skip AF+1 and AF+2 or jump to AF+3.

I'm not a programmer so I won't assume how easy this stuff would be to do but I tend to feel that AF (as most people tend to feel that it's older content) should stay in older areas.
It would give a more relaxed feel to the game and for those who do not like the direction that Adoulin has taken them, there will be something casual players can achieve without having to join up with a large alliance.

#12REDACTED, Posted: Aug 28 2013 at 9:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Great, more solo and low-man content to kill the endgame scene with. I'm convinced they are just trying to push everyone to FFXIV now and turn this into a super casual game. Linkshells are dying left and right for lack of things to actually do as a linkshell.

Give me a break. For most players there is no endgame "scene" - just some shouts, maybe a short lived linkshell that gets them a couple clears or what not. The fact is the game is so stratified into those at the cutting edge of content and those who are not able to participate in new content almost at all that solo and lowman activities are desperately needed.

I log in an NO ONE is on my friends list and maybe 3 people are on my LS (it was doing newer content before I got too busy to play for a month cause of work- came back and it was a "social shell" with no more than a handful of people on at any time)

The ONLY way I will be playing/subbing etc to FFXI at this point is if they:

a) add more solo/lowman content with SIGNIFICANT rewards - and when I say "lowman" I don't mean "everyone already has top tier gear" lowman - I mean, scrublets with an ilevel weapon 103 and below lowman/solo... ENJOYABLY AND CASUALLY. So that doesn't mean doing sh1tty fetch quests that involve whittling down a monster with a million HP over 10 minutes for a 30% chance at the item you need. Nor does it mean spending 30 minutes beating on a log for a handful of balyd.

b) BUFF JOBS THAT CURRENTLY SUCK. Ok. I get it. SE has no interest in ever making BST a job that anyone would want in a party ever. At the very least, however, I would like to be comparatively back at the strength I was before Adoulin. Meaning, I want to be one of the top soloers - I want to be able to tackle content by myself that others can't - even if it means my progress is way slower. As it stands BST is total and complete garbage. In new content it's not even one of the best soloers anymore.

c) remove time sinks and various other stupidity from old content. Get rid of "game day" "JP Midnight" etc waits. Make more quests repeatable without zoning. Make logs and ores stack, increase skill ups from crafting/fishing etc etc. In other words, make it easier for me to derp around so that I can just focus on having fun.

Dude, you should just switch to FFXIV. It has everything you're asking for.

Sorry to say this but those who wanted large scale battles are either done with what's currantly on offer or being frustrated they can't get stuff done with the currant system.

Equip any LS these days and all you hear about are the road blocks placed before them due to either players or game system requirements.
Theres always a rush for people to get in to new content and that's done with as far as some of the eletists are concerned with casuals left with things they just cannot get in to.

They need to add solo/loman content to balance stuff out.
