Is Asura the only server having problems? or is it everybody?
Nope, I definitely got booted and can't even connect o POL
I can't even pull up any SE websites atm, but the rest of the internet is blazing fast >.>

Bismarck is KO'd.
I'm currently in game, on Asura but there's only 1073 ppl on and the number keeps going down. My friend on Shiva said 9 people in her party D/C'd at once and haven't come back.

Still having intermittent errors on Lakshmi. Someone needs to make sure the IT department gets the memo to NOT play with the hamsters, no matter how cute and adorable they may be....
Seems quetz is going a little nuts too.

Getting alot of log in errors. Including the dreaded "already logged in" one.
On Phoenix I can log into my Basty and Sandy mules but not my main in Windy_S. Also had trouble using the AH. Totally bummed.

I OP'ed to quifim and timed out before zoning finished. Now cant log into that character even from a different machine. Get time out error, cant connect to server error, same character logged in error... Can log into Sandy mule on that same account though,,, Seriously wtf!! Are they even doing anything about this crap? Was also having all kinds of search failures on AH before i left for quifim. Someone needs to fix this crap!
Yeah, every character I try to zone, gets timed out and I cannot log into them again.
I hate to say this guys, but I called tech support; it's a known problem. There is a thread in the official forums about this, what the phone techie told me he wanted (and I strongly suggest you post in that thread so they can figure out what wire got tripped over or what hamster(s) got loose):
Offending chara/charas/what's going on
ISP
Type of PC (as in desktop or laptop)
Wired/wireless connection (which is it? Do you use a cable or a wireless router?)
ISP
Where you live (If in USA, state. If in another country, that country.)
Operating System
The thread is here. They haven't said anything yet so you'll have to take me on faith; the phone techie said they ARE working on it. ^^

I've now got FFXI-3001 to two of my three characters, both from trying to zone into Port Jeuno on Sylph.
ISP is AT&T DSL for what that's worth.
EDIT: Wait, they just started FFXIV beta? Yeah, no wonder their network is all messed up.
If there's a good side to this, it's that it gives me a chance to install the new expansion on a laptop.

Well it seems that this time it must have been due to the XIV beta, which overstressed the bailing wire in their network.
Apparently FFXI-3001 error is what you get when the IP address doesn't respond. I don't know whether it was due to bad routing tables somewhere or what. It's possible that they decided to renumber IP addresses for some unfathomable reason, and didn't have a short enough DNS timeout, but that would be silly.
Anyhow, Saturday morning there didn't seem to be any problems, but I reset my DNS (to clear the cache) just in case before logging in, and it worked fine.
