What I enjoyed doing:
-Aimlessly explore areas
-Weapon Skill parties at the top of the Boyahda Tree
-Soloing
-Blowing stuff up
What I hated going:
-Endless party seeking
-Missions are too long
-End-Game stuff is hard to obtain unless you can invest hours and hours for a single mission
How have things changed in the last few years? Better or worse?
Please share your experience and advice, tell me what you like or hate now.
Is anything broken? Overpowered? A Job nerfed so badly that no one wants to play with them?

It's way better. If you don't get too caught up in being the BEST and NOW, you'll have a lot of fun. Missions and storylines can almost all be soloed. I can't remember the last time I waited more than 20 mins for an invite to an exp party. Things have changed a lot (leveling is done either solo/lowman or in alliances now, generally speaking for example) but a lot of things are for the better.
There is a lot of nice AH gear, and cruor (type of currency found in Abyssea) gear is quite good to get you started as you hit endgame, as is balyd gear (currently harder to obtain since it can't be sold on the AH unlike cruor gear) - Dynamis farming can be done solo - and the wins can almost all be done in small groups. The new expansion won't have a lot you can do right away but there are two new jobs, Runefencer and Geomancer - and a whole new land to explore.
