Looking for somewhere to call home.Follow

Good afternoon everyone,

Final Fantasy XI was my very first MMORPG and I started back in December of 2003. I've played countless games since, but few have ever brought me the same joy, adventure, and sense of accomplishment that FFXI has. I come back from time to time, my stay varies in length but I always seem to leave for the same reason. I no longer have anyone to share the experience with. I've fallen away from the friends I used to play with and you honestly don't just run into people in the game anymore and strike up a conversation. It makes me very sad to say this, but in my eyes, the game is on the verge of death. Chat in-game seems to be non-existent, at least in the starting areas. I've spent quite some time search for active forum communities as well. Everything is an absolute shell of it's former self. I'm looking for a server and linkshell to call home. I started a character named "Freemist" on Bahamut, but I've no sense whether this is a dead server, or if my time would be spent better searching elsewhere.

Posting here, I'm hoping to reach out to other players.I hope that by posting this I can not only find a community to join, but help out other returning players that may be in the same predicament.
