Tonight my LS is going to attempt clearing some of the Delve T1 - T3 NM's to get people access to the new gear. My question is as follows:

Does anyone have any advice about which NM's are easiest to take down in the field in each zone? The only one I've fought so far is the Orobon in Foret and it depopped at 3% health.

Thanks in advance

Morimar:

The T1 Matamata is tricky. Constant AoE knockbacks on his regular spinning attacks, so tanks wont enjoy that one.

The T2 Raptor isnt too bad. He hits a little fast and hard, but probably the most reasonable to try now in 20 mins :/

The T3 Eft (i think it was) i have no real experience with, but knowing Eft moves he shouldnt be too bad either. Stuns, poison, dispel, that's about i.

Foret:

The T1 Craklaw has damage immunities from TP moves, and you need to position yourself properly in order to deal either magical or physical damage, since the wrong place will cause next to zero's. I wouldnt recommend this guy for a 20 minute zerg.

The T2 Uragnite is equally as anoying. Once it goes in his shell, your damage will go down to single digits. Not the preferably monster for 20 minute zergs either. Also, AoE constant poison.

The T3 Jagil is your best target of this bunch. He casts some NASTY magic. Downright spams it, however, he does so in order, so you can prepare for the big spells in time for stuns. He has elemental added effect damage that gets downright insane, though maybe not so much now with a 20 minute limit. Other than that, he's not too tough really.

which leaves us with Ceizak...

The T1 Twitherym isnt too bad outside of some of his TP moves (blind, silence, paralyze). Fought him a few times inside the fractures too. Pretty doable if needed.

I wouldnt recommend the T2 Chapuli. Damage immunities after his TP moves, and he can hit hard on anyone that is not a tank. Not really anything special, but he does get crazy evasion if you WS on him a lot. Has regular moves, on top of one reasonable AoE damage one. Just with all the evasion, not a good target for a short-time duration zerg.

And that leaves us with the T3 Scorpion. Took us 30 minutes to take down inside the Delve Fractures. Throw a good Ochain PLD on it and you're set. However, his attacks can occasionally get past the shield and deal a lot of damage. Death Scissors hit a PLD in full -PDT gear for 1400. It's likely to imagine anyone else caught by it would die instantly. He does a nasty stomp and i recall being paralyzed at one point. Not really sure how that happened, conal aoe spray or something. Just place two tanks on each side and have DD's come /THF for Sneak Attacks and with a good fully buffed and NNI/Salvage2 geared group, 20-30 minutes probably isnt too uncommon.

And i guess that is about it. Good luck! I've mostly been bard, only tanked the Scorpion for a bit on PLD, so i dont really know how the rest of the guys do as far as damage dealing is concerned. Just asume everything hurts like hell and adjust accordingly.

These are the consistently winning strategies that I am aware of so far.

Firstly, all DDs NEED accuracy sets. Then after you convince all your DDs to add in some accuracy gear, make sure they're all eating sushi.

For Unfettered Twitherym at 75/50/25% he gains a powerful PDT- effect. This can be dispelled with a Lv 3 Darkness Skillchain. Make sure all your DDs are aware to stop WS and let SAM self-SC as soon as possible.

For Supernal Chapuli the trick is to have a PLD hold it as best as he can while all melee pile up behind the mob. The mob takes no damage from the front and can only be damaged from behind. Also it is extremely important that no one uses a weaponskill. Using a weaponskill makes the mob use it's stoneskin move, and you'll never kill it. MNK, THF, DNC types shine on this fight.

For Nerrivik in the Foret, have all your WAR get in front of the mob and 1hr right at the start. Critical hits from the front cause the mob's lanterns to break, so it will be unable to charm. Once hit lanterns are down it's a pretty straightforward fight.

This is what I've found so far. I'd be interested if there are other strategies that people are finding as well.

Semi-related question: If you just want the KIs that allow you to buy the gear with plasm, do you only need to kill one of the T1-3 and one of the T4-5 in each zone? Or do you not get the KI until you've killed all of each set in a specific zone?

As far as I know, this is correct.

Yes, you get the KI from each single kill. Killing each multiple times gives you a chance at getting each tier's bead to drop, which makes getting to the megaboss inside the fissure possible.

My understanding is, when you enter the fissure you can trade up to 3 beads so those NMs don't spawn inside. I think there's also a component of beating them outside to prevent them from spawning inside.

Yeah...

So we fought the grasshopper x 2. Got the win on the second pop with literally seconds left. These new NM's have assloads of HP.

Then we tried the raptor in Morimar. Got annihilated the first time. Second time we got it down to 25% with like 6 mins left but were dying too often to recover. The second try we did a full out zerg with BRD rotation and all. Still only ate up half it's HP. And it just crushes DD when it gets off a triple attack. It attacks fast and hits hard and is evasive as sh*t. Eating sushi with +60 acc on gear I whiff without madrigal or Hunter's. We could have zombied it if not for 20 min timer. Gonna wait a few days and see if more strategies surface for each NM.

Gotta say that the fights are fun but frustrating. I don't mind the depop timer, but it does **** me off a bit that a portion of the population got clears prior to the update during 3 hr slogfests and now I've got 20 mins to work down a highly evasive killing machine with 500k hp while all those people who were lucky enough to get KI before the update have moved on to fracture farming.

P.S. Also got a T4 clear in Foret on Orobon in a PUG (well-geared pug) prior to ls event. He honestly seemed easier than the raptor. We may try Eft instead next time.

I was in a half ls / half pug today that did the T4 of Morimar and T3/T4 of Foret outside. We used basically the same setup for all three consisting of:

whm brd cor dd dd dd
whm brd cor dd dd dd
rdm geo sch brd or cor ??? ???.

The 2 DD parties were there to go all out, using sushi. The two DD party brds applied march march mad mad min min scherzo and the cors applied their buffs. Rdm was there for things like blind / silence on Peiste and Pugil respectively. The rdm was also there for gravity II's eva down. The geo provided frailty(def-) and torpor (eva-) while standing with the DD party. The brd in the mage party was there to provide march to help with stuns. I was on sch stunning, with backup from the rdm. In one of the wildcard spots we used thf for feint. I would recommend another sch/blm for the other slot, because it would have been a lot easier to have a rotation instead of depending on myself, (the rdm was often too busy doing other things to be in the order).

One of the most important things is to know the NMs weakness by checking out BG. It's also didn't hurt that some of the Drks already had Bereaver.
