The New Version Update has arrived! (04/29/2013)

You pay a monthly fee to play. That's it. That's all this debate boils down to. You question why they want you to farm 30k alex or 1.5k HMP? Because it keeps a lot of people paying that monthly fee in the "limbo" periods where no exciting content exists. Right now, new content exists. That will keep people p[l]aying. They're still cashing in on the people trying to 99 their Ukons, but there has veen a great influx of new or returning players, and they need to lock up that reoccurring income as well. There are new, and (forgive me for saying this, but) better games on the market. New and/or returning players don't want to farm Dynamis for a Mandau anymore. It's old content. Grind it if you want, and keep paying, that's cool...but most people have done that and are "over" it. The developers are pushing the game forward, and if they want to keep monthly fees rolling in, this is how it happens. Butt-hurt over your 99 R/M/E being "irrelevant" now or not, that is what's happening. You can still have a blast doing old content, but there are plenty of people who were "capped out". They had the best there was. How do you keep their monthly fees rolling in? This SoA stuff. That's how.
