Copy FFXISETUP to new PCFollow

OK,
I searched the forums and all I found regarding this was from 2007/08 and wasn't specific to what im trying so I figured I would atleast ask if anyone else has attempted this.

Im trying to copy FFXI to a new PC (MBP-with windows) but I'm past my Digital River 30 day download period.

Rather than rebuy the expansion, I was wondering if it was possible to copy the following:
FFXISetup.exe
And the 4 data files that were originally downloaded from digital river, to a usb stick -> to new PC, and run the installer (FFXISetup) from that.

Was wondering if anyone has tried this as a workaround for the DR 30 day issue.

That should work fine - that's your installation file, after all.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Those files just finished copying over to the jump drive so I will try that shortly.

Also if anyone else has a similar issue, I found I can also access those files through the windows "Homeshare" program.

I found the drive they were on and right click -> Share with -> advanced sharing otions -> enable sharing.

Then on the new MAC-PC (bootcamp) go to "My Computer" and click "Network" and navigate to the specified drive, and run "FFXISETUP" from there. Granted that only works if both computers are on the same network.

Hopefully someone else finds this useful.

It can be a bit faster just to copy files to a form of media (hard drive, memory stick, cell phone, ipod) and walk it over.

Last time I had to do some updates, I just grabbed my cell, downloaded the files to it and just copied them over.
