I'm trying to do the COR AF quest "Against All Odds", and the game is crashing at the end of the CS in Arrapago Reef. When I log back in, the CS begins immediately.

I don't know what to do. I tried reinstalling the game, not using windower, etc I'm literally stuck in this CS.

I would post on the official forum or have a friend call GM for you. Another alternative is to have a friend log you in and get you through that cs.

See, I knew COR sucked for some reason.

OK more seriously, you will need to contact a GM/SE support. Nothing anyone can do to your character will break you out of the bug. You can try getting cured, that used to be how we'd get someone out of menus they'd get stuck in, but I doubt that would work.

Do you have a mule?

It could be your screen resolution. You may also need to update or reinstall direct x. Those would be my guesses.

It's a graphics issue on your end, probably related to a file being damaged. I had the same problem with some cutscene around rank 5 missions like 8 years ago. I gave my account info to a friend, he got me through the cutscene, and I never had the problem. So that works, assuming you have anyone you trust. (and, even if you don't trust them, if you have a security token they couldn't get in again later anyway)

So problem seemed to have resolved itself on its own. After logging into my mule, the cutscene proceeded smoothly. Weird.

I know in the past, the music for the Reef gave some virus scanners a heart attack for some reason. Was going to propose that may have been it, but if you got through it, well, yay.

Sometimes a cutscene will jump zones, and sometimes different zones run on separate server instances (each 'server' is actually a cluster of servers with a range of IPs) that your ISP just can't friggin' find. 90% of black screens on zoning are because of this too, and you'd notice it's often zoning from town to field or from a classic zone to a CoP zone (entering Attohwa Chasm is notorious). This is because of how zones are arranged on the server cluster.

This is also why it will usually just fix itself, when your ISP just stops being derpy and finds the server it was requesting.

Unfortunately a GM wouldn't have been able to help you in that situation. A GM cannot/will not help someone stuck in an area/cutscene/etc, even if it's reported by an alternate account or mule for that account. I've had issues where I've been stuck in a zone before that wasn't loading properly for me, so I called a GM on my mule (same POL account), and the GM said they couldn't help since the call wasn't made on the affected character.

It's more because you have to be logged in for them to send you to your homepoint, but you never appear serverside when you've got some issue connecting to the zone.

Actually...

Once I got trapped in a menu for the OP warp guy. I couldn't open any menus. My ex called a GM, then the GM sent me a tell asking if I was requesting a position reset. I said yes, and about a minute later I was tossed to the mog house exit.

So, you just got a lazy *** GM.
