Xbox 360 update had to start again?Follow

Hey guys. So I bought the game for Xbox 360 and installed it just fine. I started updating the game (est 7 hours). Anyway, there was about 2 hours left and I went to get a drink from my kitchen. When I came back my Xbox 360 was turned off and upon reboot I had to start the update from the very beginning. Surely this can't be right? In 2013 the update has to start from 0%? What kind of crap is that?!

There's new settings that came with a recent update for the Xbox where it powers down after a certain amount of time if you leave it - was this the problem perhaps?

Couldn't be. I touched it every 15 mins or so. I literally left to just get a drink from the kitchen after I pressed a few buttons to make sure it wouldn't shut off. When I got back about 4-5 mins later it was off. It just did it again.

If your update restarts for any reason, even though the update says it's starting at 0%, everything it downloaded the first time will be skipped over. It only has to re-do the file check part.

I'm not so sure about that. The update is 21000 files. When it restarts again it starts at 21000/21000 to download. Every time.

This is the way it works on PC, not sure on xbox. But honestly I would be more concerned about why the xbox is shutting down for no reason.

Same thing happened to me. Auto off function shuts off the xbox no matter if you move the joystick or not. Turn off auto-off.
