Not what I rememberFollow

So I was super excited about jumping into the game, I went through a whole mess of loops to get my old chr back, I finally start running around and relearning the controls, and head to town, and it seems like a ghost town...... all the major cities (minus Jeuno of course) were barren, everyone is doing the abyssea thing (which or course I don't have) and it's just so dead I suppose. Maybe it was just the places I were in, maybe the server, but I have never felt so lost, apparently ppl don't ride chocobos anymore, ppl can now lvl to 99. What did I miss, idk, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, I was almost thinking of starting from scratch but don't want to go through the sub job quest, chocobo, airship, and getting maps and all that time comsuming nonesense, idk, I have all jobs unlocked except drk, idk, maybe I'm just not enjoying it like I use to, eh I'll give it a couple more days I suppose

First, find a linkshell, this will help you to get oriented.

As you've noticed, the game has changed dramatically. The biggest one is that it's now incredibly fast to level up. While not everyone is happy with this adjustment, it was a necessary one because a huge portion of the population is already at the level cap.

Second, find a linkshell, this will help you to get oriented.

Since you managed to get your character back, you might as well stick with it (unless you jump servers), but starting over is definitely an option, especially if you have very low crafting skills. With a good linkshell for returning players (shout in game or ask on this forum) and your previous knowledge, it will not take long for you to catch up to where you once here. I would try to make use of the character you got back though.

Third, find a linkshell, this will help you to get oriented.

Abyssea- you don't need it to start out with, but if you plan on playing more than 2 weeks, your experience will be very difficult without these expansions. You can level to 99 outside of Abyssea, but almost everyone uses Abyssea post-75 and even start from lv30.

I did shouts for a ls, I found one that is pretty helpful, although a little small.

Yeah, one thing I really miss is seeing people travel through zones since there are ways to warp almost everywhere now.

Most of the easiest to get/decent gear to get started with comes from Abyssea. Even if you don't really want to level there, you will probably want AF3. If you have relic gear though you can upgrade it to +2 and some of it is decent enough to use seriously (a few pieces are pretty good - many are irreplaceable macro peices - most is middling)
