It sounds potentially like the .dat file was corrupted or was somehow not named properly during the installation process. Have you seen others going around with the Chocobo Shirt on and it showing up normally?

I'd recommend maybe logging first to see if it somehow corrects the problem, but if it doesn't, I would definitely contact a GM about it. They'd be able to see that there's some issue with the item and, I would imagine, be able to replace it.

I've installed the full SoA collection and I'm not sure where you get the shirt and hat from.
I was emailed a string of reg codes when I bought it from the SE store but I have no idea which is which.

Edit:
Solved the problem, there was some guesswork involved but I found the festive moogle outside the moghouse in port bastok and he gave me the hat and shirt.

omg 9hrs dam they make you jump through hoops to play this game don't they? ><

On another note about the bonus items; they wouldn't work for me until I set up content ID's and went through the full character creation thing as I was setting up an account from scratch.

I thought I could just input one code after another but it would only let me register the code for the SoA expansion at first.

The thing I don't like about this is when you buy the game from the SE store the reg codes arent set up like this:

FFXI SoA reg codes:
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Beret
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Shirt
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

You get the codes like this:
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

There's only 5 spaces on the SE management page to imput the code and your left wondering which are the game codes and which are the the bonus items

And that's only if you can figure out that "Add Account" means "Redeem Code."

SE's account management system is easily the most absurd one I've ever encountered.

Most account systems are designed to make it easy for the user to do things like .. give you money, enable services, and contact support for help when something doesn't work.

SE's account system is designed to do the opposite of all those things.

Yeah I hated dealing with it to be honest and it took a few attempts to find the correct screen to create my POL account because the walk throughs I found was showing me to add expanded services which confused me a bit.
It wouldn't let me register my codes at this point because I had no POL account.

It doesn't properly explain that you first need to set up an SE account and then a POL account as they provide your passwords so you can eventually login when you get the game set up.
So you end up going around in circles till you either give up or get angry with it.

Was this an RMT counter measure by chance? lol
