Thinking of coming backFollow

Hello All,

I've been thinking of coming back to the game for some time, I last played when wings of the goddess came out, I had a really neat lvl 42 dnc/thf combo, /sigh lol.
Anyway I was wondering how the game is coming along, I played on the midgarsormr server and was thinking of if I came back to go ahead and try to recover my chr and all that nice jazz. But if I'm not able to recover I was wondering how the solo aspect was coming along, I remember it being almost impossible to solo, unless you did bst or smn. Do you still have to buy all your maps, and go through the tedious task of buying or farming all your spell? Is the monster signet still work like a million gil? I've missed the game very much and I really liked the community for it all and was just curious if I should go through the trouble of trying to recover and update and everything, also If I do go ahead and get back into the game should I go ahead and just download the full version w/ the new expansion, or just use my old discs to get everything installed and get the expansion later. Sorry if a lenghty read. Thanks.

it's hard to sell the monster signet for 10K on my server now, so you'll be able to pick one up for cheap. Experience points come really fast compared to old times and SE also sometimes does double experience point weekends. Soloing is quite viable but much slower than joining exp alliances. You can pretty much get exp whenever you want now. Most experience points are either done using grounds of valour books - alliances in overworld dungeons like Gusgen Mines or in Abyssea

It's not uncommon to get more than 100K exp per hour in some parties now, so don't worry about your old character. Yes still have to buy maps etc but once you get higher level the cost of most stuff like that sold by npcs is less bothersome than it used to be (there is a larger supply of gil/easier to get stuff that you can straight up NPC for gil)

In my opinion it's a very good time to come back. With the expansion and people leveling the new jobs there is lots of activity and people doing exp. OH AND - job snobbery in experience points parties doesn't exist anymore. Everyone is welcome to join in.

I just went through the entire process of reactivating my old account, it wasn't too hard to do, just be sure to do the cont customer service thing on the website and go in the chat live feature and they were really good at explaining to me how to do everything.I have my lvl 40 something dnc/thf I'm excited about seeing again, I feel a little bad their isn't a way to get all the add-ons for after wotg anymore unless you buy the ultimate edition soa thing. Oh well I'm really excited about dumb things like relearning all the controls and things XD. I'll get the expansion soon enough I suppose just to get the add-ons and what not. Anyway good luck I hope it was as easy for you as it was for me. ^^
