So doing the same thing over and over I thought about a interesting content. Instead of doing boring reives how about a maze race competition among players for points that can be used for equipments and items. Like 5 different mazes with random enemies. The enemies don't hit hard but just delays yr way. 10 to 15 players. Available like tags once per day, each job has their advantages but no sneak or invisible. You can fight your way through it try to use ur skills and sneak past them.

How cool with that be??

I never done nyzul isle but my idea is players gets put in a zone. Have to reach finish line. Every player for themselves. Navigate thru the zone. Monsters can slow u down. They can Cast Gravity on you bind etc. Dead ends slows you down. 1st 2nd and 3rd gets points.

Cast invisible. Maintenance mode. Run to exit, switch off.
"Wow you guys are slow. I found the way exactly and didn't agro anything! Stupid noobs, learn to play."

Nothing can ever be competitive like this so long as position is client based, so the event can't really offer anything of value and would be dead moments after novelty wore off.

You know what would be even cooler though? If you could like... capture monsters and have them fight in an arena. You could even change their jobs around so you could get a mob family with high evasion and make them THF on top of that. I bet Wamouras would rock pretty good too because of their native damage reduction.

Pankration is what I see being the closest to that.

Rael was joking about that. He knows full well about Pankration, but was saying it to show yet another system that sounded cool and fun on paper, but once it was executed, it ended up doing fairly bad. For an event to work in this game, it needs staying power. Pankration was a fun diversion at first, but it just didn't have enough going for it to keep it going for very long. It needed decent prizes unique to Pankration to keep it going.

In this event what if we can also cast spells on each other? Imagine a theif using flee and someone cast bind on him. How hilarious would that be? Someone sleep someone next to a notorious monster. Maybe even get a item
From a question mark like a red shell and shoot at others like Mario kart lol. Just kidding.

We already have that too and it's called Ballista and Brenner.

I do like the concept of a maze sort of event for the game that just involved you running from Point A to Point B, but there are a few issues that would doubtlessly come up.

1) Making it worthwhile. If you look back at all the events that have been added to the game, the only ones that see any real activity nowadays are the ones that offer some kind of reward that is tangible and useful. Dynamis, Limbus, Salvage, Einherjar, etc are all done because they offer weapon and armor rewards (not to mention ways of making money), but events like Pankration and Brenner are practically barren nowadays. Yes, Brenner and Pankration were fun as diversions when they were added, but their biggest problem was that they didn't offer anything as far as a real, substantial reward to keep bringing in. For this maze race of yours to work, it'd need a substantial reward.

2) Countermeasures to prevent cheating. This sort of goes right in with 1), since any event worth doing will potentially result in some people using third party tools to take advantage of the situation. While it wasn't necessary in order to win, a lot of people used third party tools for Neo Nyzul in order to increase their chances of winning substantially. In the same vein, a tangible, substantial reward for your maze race would tempt some people into using third party tools, be it to increase their speed to get to the goal faster, or to simply bypass any walls that might be in the way.
