Can't install Seekers of Adoulin..? Help D:Follow

I bought SoA from Amazon and downloaded it for PC.. It downloaded just fine from them, but when I go to install on computer it says FFXI needs to be installed before I can install SoA.. anyone know why? I digitally downloaded FFXI from Best Buy a long time ago, it's not like I can uninstall and do it all over..
Did you purchase the all in one collection or just the SoA expansion? The all in one Ultimate Seekers collection will start an FFXI isntallation wizard, then present you with a list of stuff to install - POL, base FFXI, game, DirectX 8.1, and all the expansion. Just check Seekers if that's the only thing you need to install.
If it's just the single expansion, make sure you're trying to install it in your actual FFXI directory. You may have installed it in an unusual place the first time, and if it can't detect it in its default location, it will be confused and say you have to install the whole thing.

I had the same problem. Had to uninstall, and for some reason had to go in and still manually delete the folder. Then the new seekers edition would install.
@catwho, base FFXI install can be skipped. But when you get to the expansion install it just says you need to install base FFXI first.

I had this problem. I bought Adoulin from Amazon too, and was getting the same error message. I didn't have to uninstall anything, though. If you go into your Amazon account, you'll see a link to download the expansion. It's about 200MB. Download it and install it, and that's the expansion itself.
In the past, all you had to do was register the expansion within FFXI, and the data would be automatically downloaded through Playonline. It's different this time.

Actually only the 6 add-on were done via download patch. All full expansions required an install via disc or digital source.
