Geomancer, because I have a nagging feeling that rune fencer is going to suck compared to my existing tank jobs, which are all loaded up with various relic/empyrean toys that RNF will apparently not be able to use.

Rune Fencer, hands down. I'm excited to see another tank job besides NIN and PLD and I have yet to level a tank job to a significant level. Basically, everything about Rune Fencer sounds awesome to me.

I most likely won't be leveling Geomancer simply because I'm not really a fan of mage jobs. SCH is really the only one I like. I guess that could change but we'll see.

The other reason is that my brother will be coming back when SoA is released so we'll be duoing and I feel like with the offensive and defensive capabilities of Rune Fencer will compliment each other well.

Honestly, can't wait for the expansion in general. Everything about it looks great.

Well really the only thing they will be missing out on is having an aegis since Ragnarok isn't worth the effort anymore besides sheer dps and empyreon isn't as important when you got that ungodly merited weaponskill kicking around.(Unless it got nerfed since I've been away.)

Anyways since I promise I play next month for the sake of a friend, Runefencer.

Edit: of course I think they said they weren't going to be able to use shields anyways so I don't even know why I mentioned aegis other then it's the magic shield hahaha.

Geomancer for me, for no really deep reason though, I just don't like 2-hand weapons.

Aegis is probably the least useful R/M/E thing I've made, unfortunately. lol

It just does not get nearly as much screentime as Ochain does, as far as PLD is concerned.

Like i said, I only brought it up cause their suppose to be magic tanks not physical ones.:x It's really no surprise though. More physically damning moves out there then magical ones.

It's going to be interesting though, every mob has some form of physical damage but not every mob has magic damage. It's hard to see how Rune fencer will flesh out against a job that can pretty much cover both(especially with an aegis if needed). I want the job to succeed but there's a lot going against it without it being released yet haha.

Neither. I can't seem to force myself into being interested in either of them.

But I'm annoyed at the addition of new jobs just for that "shiney new expansion with shiney new jobs" feel. Especially when so many current jobs are in need of adjustment.

I pick THF then....Or RDM... Or PLD. Probably THF though. <==Jobs I wish they would have fixed instead of adding another useless tank or pointless Bard Mage.

Well, as long as I don't have to strap myself to a tree for days and nights to unlock it, I'm going with Rune Fencer first. I just like the premise of it, and seeing as how I have a penchant for DD/melee jobs over mage jobs in general, this one just really strikes my fancy. Not to mention, I think the Artifact armor design is really awesome for it.

Rune Fencer for me, too. Mage jobs seem to love to eat my inventory space a lot more than melee ones and I'm running pretty low lately -.-

Jobs are always in need of adjustment. If we stuck with your attitude we'd never have got beyond the original advanced jobs due to constant re-balancing because X isn't as useful as Y. They haven't added a new job in ~6 years and the game has only existed for ~11 years, so we haven't had a new job in pretty much half of the game's lifetime. I think we're bloody due a "shiny" new job! Hell, I think we're due more than 2, but I'll take what I can get.

Just curious, but do you think they will add Runefencer to Ragnarok? The didn't add Dancer to Mandau, or Corsair to Annihilator when those jobs came out.

Although it seems pretty likely they'd get added to Caladbolg.

They detailed that they wasn't going to add Rune or Geo on any of the existing R/E weapons because of all the work involved and give them new weapons with the expansion...

GE- How will the new jobs play into current relic, mythic and empyrean weapons? Is it safe to assume that they’ll have relic and empyrean armor as well?

SE- Rune fencers and geomancers will have Artifact equipment, Artifact weapons, Relic Equipment, Empyrean equipment, and Mythic weapons.

Rune then Geo hopefully rune can make tanking shinryu a breeze for my mules lol....

GEO first. I'm a mage at heart.

RNF will probably follow a month later.

Runefencer because Geo looks too fiddly and Runefencer looks more like a job I can solo stuff with, and given how many people will be on the two new jobs - I'm guessing I'll be able to use it a lot more if I am soloing.

Also I get the feeling that a number of my nice bits of armor for BST will have Runefencer added to them since BST is on a lot of tanky gear. GEO will probably be added to stuff I wear on my brd but I have more nice stuff for bst than brd.

God, parties are going to look hilarious. Nothing but Geomancers and Runefencers.

I'd like to see a bunch of GEOs in the newer events. We could call them NEO-GEOs!

I'm so ashamed...

RNF because it looks like what RDM should have been in the first place.

Also since I'm a COR main, I've no need to level another AoE buffing job.

Runefencer all the way. Geomancer looks a little fiddly, and with RUN (or RNF or whatever) I'll have all my skills preleveled.
