I've been farming brown treasure caskets in The Shrine of Ru'Avitau for days now to get a Terminus earring (skill up earring). I've gone through 8 stacks of Thf tools, received 60 geode and HQ geodes, over 2 stacks of Kindred seal/crests, 75 levels of prowess (including +4 treasure casket) and I'm about to lose all sanity.
Is this drop seriously that rare? I'm fighting Decorative Weapons in the area accessible from the "front door" to the shrine. Does mob matter?

I've gotten earrings for both myself and my mule farming Diorites at the Aura Statue camp. It did take a while, but its not impossible to get. Neither of us were THF, we weren't there specifically farming for the earring so prowesses were low. Not much worthy information, except to confirm that it does exist, and that random is random.
I'm worried that they won't drop from the Decorative weapons and I've no means to get to the Statues without leaving the zone, which resets all my prowess's (casket +5 now). Ironically, it's doing a great job a skilling up sword in my off hand (i have the skill up ring and +8 skill up prowess now).
I found that earring in a chest from killing Decorative Weapons, so it's possible. Basically took most of a weekend to do it making sure to log out in the zone to not lose Casket Discovery.

Think its just your luck. I got that earring in maybe an hour. But to be honest, the magic skillup earring took me months on and off in gustav tunnel. Think i solo'd 7-8 jobs there from low 50's (mobs dc and em) until I was high enough that they were too weak on the top floor.
It's difficult because kupowers don't reach sky. But I have that earring and the alchemy torque, so it's not impossible
