Yes, as you're likely the type of player who forget this is an RPG, something that has stories and lore attached to it. Nothing wrong with that though, every new MMO is designed without storylines worth a damn and only there for gameplay.
Ehh, I see where you're coming from, but these event writeups are always kind of brain-meltingly boring and awful. It's like they're going for the least compelling way possible to describe how exciting and cultural this all is.
