download time :: World of Warcraft

Im new to this game and I am trying the free trial. The process seems woefully cumbersome to start the game. First you need a "pol" ID then you start a long download of playonline, then a square enix account then more downloads and finally after sorting out passwords, ID's and several logins a 12+ hour download of the game itself.

Is this 2 day or more process the norm or am I doing something wrong?

Also, do these 2 days count against my 14 days?

I was up and running from downloading the game, making an account while downloading. installing POL and the game updates was a total and right around 7 hours.
