Why Meebles, why?Follow

#1 Jan 29 2013 at 3:24 PM Rating: Sub-Default
Ok, after clearing Batillia Downs Abjunct 1-4, got to 5 (boss), whiped. Guess what now I have pay gil to get 1-4 back and repeat #4 to get to boss. After whiping w a new group, HAVE TO PAY ALL OVER AGAIN.. really ? Am i doing something wrong here or is there a serious design flaw in this? Paying 300k + to fight a boss for a item that may not even drop & thats assuming you get the win. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!

Fighting a boss wipes your book.
Simply run #1-4 again to gain access to #5, no need to pay.
#3REDACTED, Posted: Jan 29 2013 at 3:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That sounds great and all but this requires time and the use of sacks, which you only gain 1 time every 20 hour.

I understand the concern but I much rather this system than newer mmos with:

"Do content once, get everything you want, sit on your *** the complain there's no content and we eventually shut the MMO down or sell it to someone else that ***** it up."

Systems.

Oh no, you can't complete Meebles in a week, how tragic.

I see no problem as my group runs meebles once a week.

I completely agree with this & no I am not trolling or whatever you call it but I simply do not have time or gils. I work 60 + hours a week & even finding 3 people to go with me is a all day chore. Took me 4 months to get Kanaggi, another 3 to get Thomaus Coat. I hate being in a LS pop on every 2 weeks and say, hey help me with this.

I get what your saying & I do agree with you, they could have at least made it so we can enter every two days and still keep our progress, anything. Now I have zero sacks gonna take a work week before I can start all over and even do for free.

Anyways its not gonna change my rant is over!

Wait, Meebles is hard?

If so, I'm definitely looking forward to the new NMs. Looks like we'll even be able to use our PLD for these.

Then perhaps FFXI is not for you.

Though I see were they should completely revamp a game to better fit your schedule.
Or...
You need to revamp your expectations of content.

As to your LS log in and help them for your 2 days and they should return the favor?

If not drop pearl try again.

The batillia downs one seem much harder yes. we went 3 on the first boss, ninja, bst whm all w emps, neo geared, whiped 2x. the fight was not even close.. I love a challenge, well they gave it to us & yes seem PLD would rob do better on this.

there is 1 mob with 4-5 adds once they wake up, when they do they destroy shadows lol and then repeat ga t3 spells over and over lol. GL running cause they gravity before doing so. All in all its a very fun fight, just wish i could try more times lol.

Good to hear, though the BG thread is calling the fights easy and the special stuff like getting ten bombs to self-destruct hard.

I don't even know if I'm generating stones or pouches or whatever they're called.

I am sure it easier w 6 good players, you will still have fun.. Getting to the boss is easy and much like Assaults. Grab you a Grimior from the Galka NPC in Upper @ I-8 to start your sacks. Im not sure if you get any right off but they generate 1 sack every 20 hours and default you can hold 10 sacks. you can purches a bigger box to hold more sacks if you want.

Think you can load up to 15 tags. Holding one does not increase your supply.

If you do runs every 2 weeks, then it's possible to have 3 NMs runs in a single night

Okay guys. There's no need for the fighting and name calling (I'm saying this for both parties). Ninja, the reason they did it this way is so that players wanting to just jump right into doing the boss and not wanting to bother with the earlier expeditions for that fight still can do it, but it's something they'll have to still do something cost wise. It's a matter of "Do you want to spend the time and pheremone sacks going through the first four expeditions again, or do you want to spend the gil and be able to otherwise skip past those expeditions?". It's a way to artificially extend the content, and it may be a bit cheap, but it's a sound system all the same.

As for the difficulty of the bosses, they are easy if you know that the adds can easily be slept. While I'm not too sure on the ones for Assistant or for Emeritus, the Izyx's Voyeurs and Meeble Scribes/Augers for Svaha can easily be slept, so if you take a job with you that can sleep, or have the Whm go /Blm to Sleepga, it shouldn't be too much trouble. My Meebles group almost always has a Bard, and last night he had no trouble sleeping either Izyx's or Svaha's adds.

As for everyone else, just because some things are easy for some groups doesn't mean that they're going to always be easy for others. Going into some of those with three people would be rough, even the bosses I think. It'd be easier with a 3 person setup better suited for it, but with the setup he had, it could be pretty difficult. The update came out yesterday, so that content is still going to be new, and what the monsters are capable of doing are still going to be a bit mysterious. For example, when my group did Svaha yesterday, there was no information about it being able to use Exponential Burst as a TP move. Sure, that was found out later, but at the time we had went, the only information known was Slycer on BG saying that it did no TP moves when his group fought it.

It does sound like a pretty good system. Those of us who like to schedule content to get done with our friends have another option of something to do, and those who really have more gil than they ought to have something to sink it into if they just CANT wait.

It sucks to wipe, but I don't think that SE designed this content for people to just blow through. That they even offered an OPTION to use gil in lieu of time just floors me. It shows a changing dynamic, that's for sure.

Just as a question can someone explain how it works - since I haven't done clears yet - once you've done any clear you can purchase a boss fight or?

To fight an NM, you must clear the four runs of the same rank, say Researcher.
Once you clear a run, Researcher #1 for example, you can pay gil to have that run completed in your book. This is useful for either gaining additional boons or saving tags to spam more NMs. The price can be quite high as seen here: http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Burrow_Researcher_%28Sauromugue%29

Each time you clear an NM, you gain a KI. Earning all the KIs from an meebles site such as Sauromgue, you gain access to a final NM. Winning this fight allows you to buy the KIs for gil.

Every time you fight an NM, win or lose, your book is wiped clean.
Every time you fight the final NM, win or lose, all KIs are lost.
