Xbox 360 Controller, Do the Triggers work?Follow

Do the triggers work in FFXI when using the Xbox 360 Wired Controller? Want to bind my macros to those buttons just like the ps2 version has/had.

You can use the XBCD drivers to force the switches to work, but I believe it only works with wired xbox controllers (which you have, it seems).

If you want to use a wireless xbox controller, I know you can map the triggers using xpadder if XBCD fails.

I find it easy to use and have never had a problem with it, but I use a keyboard mostly.

Last time this question was asked, I setup xpadder and verified it worked in about 5 minutes.

There are a number of things you can do.

1. Pick up a Logitech Rumblepad\Rumblepad II - no additional configuration needed.
2. Pick up a usb adapter and use an old Ps2 controller - no additional configuration needed.
3. Try using XBCD. I'm going to link a post from a few years back - I have no idea if this method will even still work or if the procedure has been updated, but it will give you a place to start.

Personally, I got sick of messing with it and just picked up the logitech controller. It has a setting to identify as an Xbox controller for the games that support it, and a setting to identify as direct input for games like FFXI where those triggers are super important.

Wierd. I've never had a problem with Play-Asia, Zelduh. I had a stutter once on them and got two by accident from Play-Asia but that was minor (I actually traded that to a friend who was having trouble with controller adapters for a $25 amazon gift card, which I turned around and used for most of the coming expansion). It's best to buy from reputable sites so that won't happen. I think Play-Asia is pretty good; It was just a cookie problem that ended up with two in my cart. (Clicked add to cart earlier and had a brain fart, forgot, clicked it again to add to cart. and didn't double check before I checked out. Oops! Chalk that one up to human error..)

Lemme see if I can find it on Amazon where it's not a knockoff.. Ok, Here's another that will likely work from the same company.. I suggest you stick with Mayflash, never had a problem with their products other than the rumble doesn't work; but that's minor.
