So it's been 4years since I last played lost both of my pol i.d's so decided to buy the ultimate collection for £15 need a few questions answered

1: Is it still start lvling at east/west saru as i'm going to roll with windy then move onto VD>Jeuno>Qufim> and so forth or is there better now?

2: Macro's are still /JA "Ability" <t>?

3: Any starting quests I should get nailed out to help along the way?

Only thing I'm really not looking forward to is the 20min boat ride to bloody valkurm dunes!

1) People level in alliances now. We do Grounds of Valor in Gusgen mines from 10-35ish. This takes about 5-6 hours and is the standard leveling path now. The alternative is solo or duo with friends. That said its a shorter run if you start from Bastok, but it sounds like you know the zones well enough it won't matter.

2) Yes.

3) At 30 start the Abyssea quest. You won't go into Abyssea until 75+ but you need to start the quest as early as you can to start building up time to use inside Abyssea.

Any more questions?

When you do get into a GoV party, that's a great place to strike up conversations about what's new, where to level next etc.

Also when you start the Abyssea quest, start the Voidwatch quest as well, for the same reason.

Time in Abyssea is granted via Traverser Stones. One stone initially grants 30 minutes of time. You'll start out only earning one stone every 20 hours. You can only hold three stones at first, so after three days you get a whole 90 minutes of time in Abyssea. That's not enough to do much of anything except unlock your maws.

So we recommend you start the initial Abyssea quest (can start it at level 30) and then wait a week or two and do other stuff inside Abyssea, like exp. Abyssea exp parties are best done at level 75+ - even if you can go in at level 30, you can't contribute to the exp alliance until you're at least level 70.

Later on, you can gain key items that increase the rate at which stones replenish (down to one every eight hours), which grant bonus time per stone (from 30 to 48 minutes max), and which increase the total number of stones you can hold (from 3 to 6.) But in the beginning, it's just better to bank up several hours of time before your first exp party - you can earn additional time within the zone with time extensions, and carry over any extra time you leave Abyssea with, up to 120 minutes. (It's not unheard of for some folks to have 500+ minutes build up in an exp part - I heard of some crazy dude with over a thousand minutes.)

Can't start Voidwatch till you have an adventurers certificate and are level 75 I think... well that's what lolwiki says:

To elaborate on something Catwho missed. You can only hold 3 stones at first. But the NPC will continue to create stones and store them for you. As an example Joachim has over 1000 stones stored for me, But I can only hold 6 on my person at once.

Log in to your Square Enix account on the website. Under Services and Options click "Select Service" > Then FFXI, Now next to the FFXI Logo to the right there's a button that says "Add a Service account" This is where you enter your beret code then pick which character you want to send it to. You can only send it to one character ever so choose wisely. To redeem the item in game you need to visit a Festive Moogle.

1. Fields of Valor and Grounds of Valor help gain exp at low levels. When you get high enough Gusgen mines>Crawler's Nest>Zeruhn Mines>Abyssea was the overall leveling pattern I took. People do GoV in alliances and the exp is better than before.

2. Marco's are pretty much the same aside from the added books which allow you to make more than before.

3. Outpost quests allow fast travel, Start Abyssea quests to gain access to those areas, and most quests/missions can be soloed/duoed so feel free to tackle them at your own pace.

Upgrade your gobbiebag as soon as you can. Leveling up enough fame for quests like Utsusemi: Ichi becomes a lot quicker that way. There's a quest you can do in Windurst that increases that fame that requires yagudo necklaces and since they don't stack, having more inventory space lessens the amount you need to travel back and fourth.

Norg fame always was a pain in the *** with yag necklaces farming them in Giddeus when I get time and a bit higher tbh, The bigger bags I need to do when I hit up Jeuno but first I need Cash tbh.

It's amazing what kind of stuff you can get from those treasure caskets from GoV zones. Most of the time it's rubbish but when a blue moon occurs you could get something that sells for like 1 million gil or something. Royal Jelly BCNM drops Phalanx, Utsusemi: Ni and Absorb-STR which sells for like 1 million gil each, just make sure to level up a job that can use polearm and it should be a breeze.

I started back about a month ago, its literally;

Solo to level 10/15 >
Go to Gusgen mines and level sync to about level 30 >
Go to crawlers nest and level sync there to level 60 >
Go to Bostaniueubycb obeubifbvieubv to about level 70 >
Go to abyssea.

Its quite linear but there are always parties in those zones, its fast and efficient. Very different from getting 4k p/h in a great party back in the days before ToAU and TP burns, but it works, just make sure to do all the LBs etc lol

Wow. I haven't been gone nearly as long and that is quite different than I last knew of. Should be interesting to return and get back into the swing of things.
