Personally, I don't know why they don't just make it similar to how Sagheera works with Limbus coins (that is, she'll hold onto a stock of them if you wish, and if you want to purchase an item with the coins you have to actually select the item from a list and confirm it)

I imagine mostly to avoid people ******** that they cannot retrieve their currency anymore after storing it, never to be sold or given as loans again.
