We are currently investigating players who advertise power leveling services via Shout/Yell, collect gil from the participants, and then use that gil to engage in RMT-related activity. Our investigations thus far have revealed that these players regularly advertise in the Jeuno area and we have responded by terminating the FINAL FANTASY XI service accounts of those found guilty of this behavior.

Please be aware that advertising in such a manner in itself can be disrupting to other players and we may take action against players who continuously advertise for the above kind of parties. This also includes behavior that helps facilitate such activity. Please take caution in not supporting RMT-related activity.

In addition, if you witness other players engaging in this behavior, please report the details to the Special Task Force via the Square Enix Support Center.

Well i guess it had to come sooner or later ^^"
Although it probably won't change much, since everyone that want's to level always has a friend or two that can FC for them.

I think the services dropped a lot once the cruor market dried up - only people who actually wanted to exp still needed to go, and there's a finite number of levels for all the characters in the game.

What about legit groups that FC'd to make money for relic weapons? As long as they're not spamming, is it still okay?

See that is why I take issues of swinging their ban hammer at FC /shout groups, entirely possible for them to be legit. Now if they've got detailed info that someone is RMTing gil, then sure hammer em, but if it's banning anyone who's shouted for a FC group, that's gonna be just like the mog gardening fiasco.

They just noticed the yell/shout spam? Come on SE seriously?

I'd be just fine if they implemented the shout say tell s judged to be spam function,Instead of filling blist w/ these spammers that change weekly.

THIS

How are we know ? There are legit HNMLSs that offer FC pty's so they can facilitate improving their members. Low man groups that also do the same.
I take from this that if I join a FC pty or forbid go out w/ my LS to farm KI's from gold boxes I may be supporting RMT or assumed to be RMT. Unless I physically buy the gil I'm not supporting them. Find the 10 day old character w/ 20 mil gil on him and 50 mil in gear hmmm might need to look into that ya think. Besides why anyone buys gil anymore is beyond me. SE comes in ban hammer blazing and inhibits it's player base from making gil in an attempt to keep them from buying gil that we aren't buying so that we end up buying gil. Hell just remove Fell Cleave as a WS all together.

Look RMT simply are no longer inhibiting Game Play for the average player and actually provide a service that is in demand that others are willing to participate in. I'm quite content to have them take the gil of those that are willing to pay. Then likely turn around and buy the gil back from them.

This isn't Sky 5 years ago when they were directly affecting my game experience.

We have the Mentor Flag option why not give RMT a special bubble so we can avoid supporting RMT activity SE.

Well, a few thoughts come to mind.

Leveling jobs didnt mean anything anymore. Maybe now that people have to actually level from 30 to 75, it has a little more meaning to it. Yes, it's slower. But the whole "hey, i have 20 jobs at 99" routine got a little old for players who didnt even have Zilart or CoP done.

Also positive that once CGF/RMT get the idea, they wont be spamming in Jeuno anymore, and perhaps even stop doing stuff entirely in this game. That said, i already saw (rmt) people shouting for selling drops from Provenance Watcher (they've been spelling it "Provenance Watcger" for the past few days now lol) and other Merc'd drops. So it's very unlikely this will get them to stop.

That said, i am a tad worried about both SE ruining things for legit people, as well as that the thing RMT will focus on next might be far FAR more dangerous to the community than simply powerleveling people.

leveling doesn't really need to have meaning. Also people can still just key boxes. It isn't like this will make people "lern der jobs" by spamming pages in the crawlers nest for days.

The benefit will be that there may be more people in GoV again, as it was getting kind of sparse, which slows it down for people who don't want to/can't afford to pay-to-level

GoV pages are almost just as fast, not quite, but still speedy. I started up a mule account with the Amazon 5$ sale, within 3 days my char was level 51 with LB2 already done. Rank 1 Sandy, no ZM done, no CoP done and I don't plan to do anything else until she's 99 (minus the LB's of course). GoV is good until 99 with places like Zeruhn, Bostaunieux Oubliette, etc. Like I say, it's not quite as fast, but a full alliance killing pages can rack up exp in a hurry.

Did Matsui also say he wanted players to acquire 99 at a faster pace now? Leveling in this game has become beyond pointless, especially since it's so fast. The whole argument of "No U learn ur job better in a slow party!" is over. Fighting colibri, crabs, or whatever other crappy mobs still produced some crappy players. If you're retarded, you will remain retarded no matter how you level, and if you're smart, you'll read up on your job and play accordingly.

If people want to fork over their gil to get leveled up quickly, I don't see the issue. If that gil is being sold outside the game for $$$, then ya, it's up to SE to simply ban those accounts with their proof and leave everyone else alone.

I think there is too much reading into this. It states that powerleveling parties where you have to pay to be in, and then the collector of gil uses it in RMT activity. This doesn't affect the people that pay, nor people in fell cleave groups. This has to do with people who spend gil in RMT activity. I think SE is smart enough to know the difference between the casual player (the ones that pay in), vs the one that pay out illegally in RMT trading.

Think about it. The only way SE is gonna know who is involved in RMT activity is seeing where the money is coming from... and they NEED the people who pay in to find the RMT.. so I think we're safe.

also, if you have to buy gil in today's FFXI, you're a lazy goddammed moron who should quit and go play console games instead... maybe pay someone to beat the game for you so you can say you beat it. Loser.

No they didn't. GMs for the past 2 years has stated they'll target FCs and etc especially due to RMT activity. They stated it's not technically against the rules to do it, but shout selling from RMT/Players is a violation in their eyes. If someone reports you for it the GM WILL act on it.

I've seen plenty on Phoenix banned for shoutting for FC. So no, SE didn't "just" notice anything. It's more likely they're finally enforcing it more strictly.

Let's face it, the only people left that needs to be leveled are new people or people returning before cap raises, otherwise if you've been active you're well past NEEDING FCs and Exping.

This is why its a big RMT market now.

True for those under the leadership of Tanaka. We will have to wait and see for those of us under the leadership of this new guy.

It seemed to me after the cru nerfs, it made it that much easier to pick out the RMT cleaves, since legit xp parties aren't charging for cleaves anymore. As I keep saying; Poor Matusi has had to deal with a lot of well, manure on the floor since Tanaka left. (Think Back to The Future; if you haven't watched it, look up "I hate manure" on youtube.)

If I feel the need to leech a job, I'll ask a friend of mine to blue mage cleave for me. I do hope those that paid for cleaves in the past aren't going to get it though.

The spaces in between the words and the $ has SE bumfuzzeled when they typed www. B R O $ A L E . C O M it yielded no results.

I don't know what you're talking about. After all this time, now that they've started to do it again, it's always been [BR0SALE.C0M] with no spaces.

At least I've gotten reporting them down to about 30 seconds, much of which is spent making sure that I typed the name right. The least I can do is cost them the 5-10 bucks for the account they spammed from.

If the spam filter is anything like the "naughty word" filter, then spaces dont matter at all. "WESELLGIL" is going to have the same filter as "W E S E L L G I L" or even "WE S ELL G IL". The only way to break the filter is to use non-letter icons like the $ unless programmed in specifically (which they have now), or numbers instead of letters (which shouldnt be that hard either).

Too much filtering is going to make it impossible for regular people to even have a conversation. They had this at first when it was implemented... dreadful. Glad they chose to code it a little better right after.

Greetings,

To clarify the situation -- normal players will not get in trouble for advertising power leveling services on their own. We will thoroughly investigate whether or not the users soliciting for the service are affiliated with RMT activity and take action against those that are. However, in the event players are supporting RMT activity and services, there is a possibility of being punished as well. Therefore, we ask users to be careful not to involve themselves in activity that is associated with RMT.
