Fell Cleave shout Mules increase?Follow

Noticed a recent influx Fell Cleave shouts as of late from multiple Characters, different names shouting for FC in the same areas.

A mule will shout for an hour or so and then it's gone and will be replaced by another mule shouting for the same area sometimes less than that. It seems they are cycling multiple mules to spam shout for the same abyssea FC group.

In the past month I've added some 20 new names to my blacklist.

Wondering if SE is cracking down on this or is the /shouts deemed to be spam option actually works now? So are RMT and HNMLS having to work harder to get around filters or making it harder for SE to follow the gil?

Curious if anyone has noticed these conditions on other servers as well and thoughts.

It's probably exactly for that reason. People blacklist them, but now there's really no point in doing so anymore because a new one will show up to shout in less than an hour anyhow. Blacklist can hold 200 people, asume most are half full already. If there's a constant cycle, no one is going to give up their valued Blacklist spaces anymore when it means you'll fill it up in no time.

Didnt SE have their thingy? Golden Sarcophage. To track gil flow and mass ban anything and anyone connected? I havent heard of a mass RMT banning in ages, they must have other things on their mind.

I wish they'd step up. RMT are atarting to become anoying. And if you wipe them, suddenly you're the badguy.

RMT fell cleaves are actually a bad value. In a true exp party as a keyer, in a few hours you can expect to gain a significant chunk of levels. In an RMT party? You're lucky if you gather 5-10 in the 4 hours they promise you. Last time I passed the mandy group on Bismarck, the WAR was just standing there, afk. He was gone for over a half hour.

Swings and roundabouts in my opinion.

I leveled all my remaining jobs (15 of them probably) to 99 in RMT FC's.
And most of them were **** good at their job. There was a decent Galka on Phoenix long since gone who would run 10 hourers and get me an average of way over 100k/hour even switching jobs.

I've been in one where the WAR female hume had to go **** and was gone an hour. She gave us all an extra hour. It's just a laugh stuff like that. We were all surmising she had fallen down the trap with her small Chinese backside lol..

I suppose that looking at it sensibly, if the RMT can no longer blinker > gil spam themselves, then they need to making more money from straight FC payments in the first place.
So where people assumed that the blinker nerf might kill FC's because the general player could no longer get their payment back. It's probably done the opposite and increased RMT FC's..

Moral? Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it...

Let's predict what will happen. Some high and mighty will come along on the official forums and complain about FCs or that person who actually reported people to GMs will simply become an activist for it. FCs get nerfed. THe people who are already at 99 continue on. The people who are not find something new to complain about, namely that it is taking them too long to catch up and why can't they find anyone to party with. The cycle of developer responding to whiners continues.

Not all FCs were RMTs. For a while, there was a group that was run by a small linkshell that was working on getting a relic weapon for their member in the shortest amount of time possible. They'd have a core party of six (including their own keyer), and invite 12 slots for 200K for four hours. That would be a cool 2.4 million gil each night. They did that several nights a week, and then the guy eventually got his relic and they stopped and went back to Empyreans.

Problem is that the "RMT" you discuss are very real players doing things that players would do. Any attempt at hurting them will hurt legitimate players also, and that's never good for a company trying to attract players to a new game. All you have is players paying gil to another player who then has a different set of players mass kill things for a period of time. We like to throw the word "RMT!!!!!!" around, but honestly I've been called RMT before, long before Abyssea. Players will always automatically fall back to the "he/she must be RMT" excuse when they see something they don't like.

Ultimately these are just players seeking to provide a service for a fee. Is the service worth the price? That is between the buyer and the seller and if someone pays it then obvious it is worth it to someone. Are they selling their gil to a third party company? Most likely but there is no way for any player to know that and nigh impossible for SE to figure it out. This whole argument smacks of the "those guys NNI 100 gear, they must of cheated, SE should take away their gear" threads I used to see.

Ive done quite a few FC's for gil to fund relics and to just make some fast gil when I needed it. I have also beein in a few RMT fell cleaves that have all been awesome. If the war or rdm had to leave they would stop our time and restart it when they got back. Even if you dc'ed you came back to what time you had left.

Im amazed ppl still complain about rmt. Its so easy to make gil in this game now. I would rather have RMT doing FC's then fighting them over nm pops like old days.

Although I agree with you, big difference to FC parties created by an LS for their friends etc compared to paying for it. Paying for it is only providing RMTs the very thing they use to survive. Although they may find something else to earn gil, a lot of people complain about RMT but at the end of the day people are prepared to pay for simple things like EXP.

I for one have and never will pay for FC parties when its easy and simple to create your own alliance to EXP. I have done 3 jobs in Abyssea to 99 and it didnt take me that long for all 3 jobs and only spent 1/2 doing keys. How much gil did I spend? Nothing :)

The news of an increase in Fell Cleave shouts was counter intuitive to me at first. Since SE nerfed cruor-to-gil, I would have expected this behavior to decrease.

Thinking it through, I came up with a couple reasons for this outcome:
1. Since you can't AoE burn for cruor to get gil any more, the players who were doing it purely for gil have stopped. There are still players who want the easy exp. RMT are trying to provide supply to meet the demand of those players.
2. The RMT groups that were previously AoE burning in Abyssea can no longer simply turn cruor into gil. Letting people pay to have a spot in the group was counter productive to their goals, since those paying players got the cruor instead of RMT controlled characters. Now that cruor has no gil value, selling spots not only doesn't cut into their revenue, but is the main way to raise gil through this activity (other than gold chest drops).

Are there any other reasons I'm missing as to why the cruor nerfs may have lead to this increase in Fell Cleave shouts?
