Desperate For Help With ClickandBuy Issue!Follow

Hello,

For about a year now, I have been having issues with ClickandBuy. I had an accidental lapse in payment and then they closed down my account and then told SquareEnix to terminate my account.

So, I contacted SquareEnix, and they said they would restore my account if I paid them back. Not easy.

ClickandBuy will only allow me to pay back my $13.95 debt if I do a bank wire transfer. I been calling them several times because they are missing one crucial amount of information. I know that you have to have a beneficiary and I have that information. There is also a bank account number that is needed for the bank, but I need the actual account number for ClickandBuy.

I have called over 20 times because the wire transfer will not go through. Since they are from the UK, they claim they do not know the US banking system and refuse to help me since they do not have the information.

Did anyone ever have to go through this? I need serious help because I am getting nowhere and SquareEnix is not able to assist me. I want to play the game, but ClickandBuy are jerks.

I actually have no issue except the fact that they are not able to provide me the information I need in order to wire them money. I even called Northern Trust Bank, their bankers, and they legally cannot give me the account number to send the money to. This is odd because they say that the people from ClickandBuy definitely gave me incomplete information. They should want this money; I do not know why they are making it difficult for me, unless they are sadistic.

I want to go with the other option, but my SQUARE ENIX ACCOUNT IS TERMINATED UNTIL I PAY CLICKANDBUY BACK.

The problem with the wire is that I need a specific bank account number for ClickandBuy. I have the Bank Account number. However, the problem is that when I call ClickandBuy they claim that the information I have alone will work. It doesn't at all. When I ask them about the number, they claim they don't know what that number is because they don't know the American banking system. They are ALL VERY UNHELPFUL.

I want my account so I can run away from ClickandBuy!

HELP!

Can't you just update your SE account with a different payment option? And yes I feel your pain. Give it a couple more Hrs when the rest of America wakes up.

Can you literally go into your bank and call the company from there and have them directly wire the money then

have you tried logging into your SE account and changing your payment option there? They have added a means to input credit/debit card info directly now (no going through C&B, think this is processed by some division of WellsFargo or something like that).

If you can change the payment method there, then go to reactiviate the account, it should send you through their walls of text explaining the reactivation fees and what not and eventually get you to a page to bill the amount owed and let you reactiviate.

After that....you could switch to using Crysta and you won't have to worry about those screwy reactivation headaches and penalties. No crysta at billing, you get deactivated. Add Crysta, activate, play.

I think he's saying that until he resolves this issue with Clicknscrew, SE will not reinstate his account by any means, even if he does change his payment method. Much the same as a chargeback issue, if I'm not mistaken.

His previous post would seem to back up that conclusion. So...changing his payment method won't change the fact that his account is terminated and locked out for unpaid fees to Clicknscrew.

FFXI isn't that serious to choose that option ESPECIALLY when the Japanese had the credit card option. You're better person than I am!.

Yeah, but in the past if you had postback because of issues with your card (ie, expired, closed account, etc.)--you were still able to log-in to account management pages (through POL before, now in SE AM) and change the payment method, get a summary of the past due fees/reactivation penalties then accept/pay the amount owed and reactivate.

Basically, the same applies here--having FFXI or FFXIV deactivated doesn't prevent you from loggging into SE AM, pulling up/adjusting the payment method and such. When you have a valid payment method established and select the discontinued option to reactivate, it walks you through all the details over what is due and such (how past due amount is calculated, reactivation penalties, etc) that you have to acknowledge/accept before activation. It does this even if you are using Crysta (in which case there are no re-activation penalties, and no past-due amounts owed--they just deduct the 11.95 + 1.00 per option from your crysta account and unlock 30 days of play). At least, that was the process the last time I reactivated through SE AM.

The reason I asked is it wasn't stated that the OP had already tried going into into SE AM to change payment methods and then going to the Options Continued page and trying to reactivate. It should go through the same process and allow them to pay the past due amount and reactivate.

Whether C&B still wants money from you should have no bearing on activation if you are no longer using them to pay SE--they are a third party in the loop. All SE does is query the 3rd party system you set up in the account details to get their money. So long as you still have SE AM linked to C&B, you will have issues as long as you still owe C&B. Point SE AM to something else, and it should go through that path, authorize the transaction to cover past due/currently due amounts, and reactivate. In theory, at least....if for some reason you are unable to unlink C&B from SE AM and point it to another payment method (like direct CC bill, or ultimatepay/Crysta), that is another issue.

Then you need to contact SE support about the SE site. SE AM is a completely different animal from POL, and by extension more or less seperate from what is going on with your FFXI and FFXIV accounts (in the scope of being able to access and configure account options). For example...you create the account and log into it initially with no FFXI/FFXIV info---then link the account name/pass for the game, then your characters and a method of payment to access them. It should not be affected by anything with C&B outside the scope of linking/unlinking it to your POL or FFXIV accounts as a payment method. You should be able to log-in and change your payment methods regardless of what C&B is doing--that's one of the primary functions of the site, to assign a means to pay SE for access to the game.

Next time you contact them, let them know the SE Account Management SITE is not letting you change your payment method away from C&B so that you can arrange a viable payment method--this should have NOTHING to do with an active/inactive state of your content ID (it is something you setup in order to activate/maintain your content ID in the first place, and thus should be virtually blind to the activation status of the account when setting this info up).

Out of curiosity, I just logged into SE AM to check on the process. I'm currently inactive. Clicked the "Register/Update Payment Method" button in the left-hand menu buttons, then clicked the "Register/Update" category in the box that came up and clicked the "Next" button. This presented me with the option to use Credit Card/Debit Card (already selected), with options for the supported brands (V/MC/JBC/AMEX/Discover), and another radio button to select C&B. If the site is not letting you get this far in the process, then something is wrong with the scripting or you account may otherwise be corrupted on the server somehow.

Was poking around, and had trouble pulling up some service details because I'm currently inactive. Stumbled on something that might help you get in to update payment ifno if the direct path isn't working for you. It requires some extra clicking, but when I got to the update screen, it was a different layout, and also included the option to select Crysta (hitting the Register/Update Payment Method from the left-hand side did not offer Crysta as an option).

Scroll down and under "Services and Options" at the bottom of the left-hand side, click the "Select Service" button. Then Select FFXI in the next prompt. This should be displaying a box with your POL account, should look something like this:
Quote:
PlayOnline / Final Fantasy XI:ABCD0123 [US]

To the right of that, there should be two buttons for Options List and Cancel Service. Click the one for Options List. you should now have your character listed, showing as inactive. But above that, there should be a table showing your payment method details...with a button you can press to update the payment method in the upper right of that table. That should bring up a notice about the various details for the payment methods. Scroll down and click the "Next" button. This should now give you a more concise detailed page about payment options...and at the bottom there will be radio buttons for selecting between Credit Card/Debit Card, C&B, or Crysta. Select the method you wish to use, and hit the "Next" button and continue throught the resulting dialoques.

After going through changing the payment method, you should be able to return to that earlier Options List again by following the same path (Select Service, FFXI, Options List), and in the table displaying your inactive Options (charactername@servername), there should be two buttons for Reactivate and Reset. Clicking the "Reactivate" button should get you into the dialogues about how fees are determined, reactivation fees, etc. and eventually lead to you being able to pay the past due amount/applicable fees and reactivating your character via the new payment method. Note, that it might not allow you to get caught up on the backlogged money owed via Crysta. You might have to use direct-billing to a credit/debit card first to get caught up, and then go back and switch to Crysta after you are reactivated.

Still don't think you're understanding the issue. C&B is treating his account like a chargeback. Until he resolves the chargeback with C&B (the original merchant), SE will not restore his account. There isn't any issue with the management system--SE has locked out his account for an outstanding chargeback, therefore the chargeback must be resolved with the original merchant before SE will unlock his account.

I'm pretty sure, given his posts, he's tried every method to get around the issue (direct CC billing, etc.) but basically SE is telling him this is an issue to be resolved between himself and C&B--and C&B is being asshats about it.

As I stated earlier, that is an issue with the site he needs to take up with SE about then. As stated on the site:
Quote:
A Square Enix account is a free service provided for authentification in all of Square Enix's online services. Besides its use in all future online services, one can also associate multiple IDs from current services to a single Square Enix account and enjoy features only available to Square Enix account holders.

After obtaining an account, users can easily associate PlayOnline games such as FINAL FANTASY XI with their account.
http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/

One's dealings with C&B should have no bearing on access to the account management site.
