will it or se will shut it down for ffxiv 2.0?
This topic has been asked time and time again, and the answer has been pretty much that XI will last a good while and it'd be unsurprising if it managed to outlast XIV even with 2.0 coming out. Between the new producer we have, the upcoming full fledged expansion, and just all the other changes we know are in the works, it's hard to see XI dying anytime soon, and while XIV might pull some people from XI to XIV, it's still going to be a totally different game for a totally different audience. Square Enix awhile ago stated that as long as XI remained profitable, they'd continue to support it and keep things going.

Rocking Phantasy star online 2. And loving it! Hopefully sega get's it right this time. They are having a much better start this go around then Universe but still a ways off calling it a hot contender in today's MMO market.

It survived the Japanese tsunami and Fukushima nuclear Sword of Damocles (only down for a few weeks) (BTW, that earthquake was the strongest in recorded Japanese history), it will survive the Mayan Apocalypse and A Realm Reborn. The real question is will FFXIV ARR survive as a sub-based game? Heck, will FFXIV be profitable by 2014? 2015? 2020?

The real questions are: Will FFXI PS2 support last beyond 2014? 2015 will mark the 15th anniversary of the console.
