Where to level solo post 30?Follow

Leveling in alliances is fun and all, but I like to take plenty of breaks to level solo because I honestly find it more enjoyable. Right now I'm alternately leveling RNG, THF, and DNC, but I've gotten stuck around 35. I've been wandering from Maze of Shakrami to Ranguemont Pass to Delkfutt's Tower and I'm not finding any good places to level. Can anybody give me some good places to try between, say, 35 and 75ish? Should I start doing FoV for some levels instead of exclusively GoV? I tried searching the forums and I asked the Lord Google, but I failed to find anything.

Thanks!

You could possibly do the 9 crabs & 1 land worm page in Qufim 'til about 40ish, then Sauromugue until around 49 (raptors/Goblins to 42, tabar beaks/weapons to 49). Past that, I'm not sure.

Someone on here has a FoV/GoV guide, and you can probably find it if you do a forum search.

The main place you want to look is http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Grounds_Tome

I recommend always doing GoV instead of FoV whenever possible. This is primarily because GoV XP increases after every completed page and FoV does not.

Personally, at level 35, I would recommend doing page 4 in Maze of Shakrami. You can enter the Maze through the back entrance in Buburimu Penninsula. I normally do this page until 40, when I switch to page one of Sea Serpent's Grotto. You'll want to wait until you're 40 because you need to be able to take the Sahagin that will inevitably aggro you there. That page will get you to 50 before you start getting "Too Weak." Once you hit 50, you can do page 1 of Labyrinth of Onzozo, which is right inside the entrance. I would stay there until you get into the early 60s, then I would go to Crawler's Nest and do page 5 and/or 6, which will get you to 75.

Something to keep in mind is that you can alternatively join a page 1 alliance in Crawler's Nest most of the time that is one way to get to 75. You can start contributing to those parties around level 40, although 35 might work as well. The downside is that you will eventually sync no higher than 56, so your skills will fall behind. However, it does have the added bonus of quickly maxing out your xp per page, and that max out carries over to other pages in the same zone as long as you don't leave the zone. Therefore, it's possible to, with a little preparation, to stay in CN from 35 to 75, moving to do page 4-6 if/when there is no page 1 alliance going, or if you just want to spend some time capping your skills.

There are pages that will get you from 75 to 99 as well, but I don't recommend it since Abyssea xp is stupid fast and you should be able to contribute at least a bit at 75 if your skills are close to cap. However, if you want to keep going, you can just look at that link I left at the top for inspiration.

I think I've leveled too many jobs solo...

If someone has a good solo route up to 75+ and would like me to add it to my guide I will. I just don't solo much, usually just to skill up, so I never added/looked into a good route for F/GoV solo.

I had been eyeing Sea Serpent Grotto; I just knew I needed to be at least 40 before heading there. After 75, if I still don't feel like Abyssea, I'm thinking of either Boyahda Tree or Kuftal Tunnel. There are really tons of options, so I think that, post-75, I'll be looking for a combination of good EXP and good Gil. I'm planning on leveling a few jobs solo, mostly melee, and I'll keep track of my progress so that I can put together a little solo guide.

On previous jobs I usually solo FoV pages in qufim island til 40 then move over to the east side of eastern alteppa desert and start pages there starting with spiders @40 and working my way up the pages til 50 then move over to the OP and do goblin pages til 60.
Then I move into the western alteppa deset - til around 65 then it;s off to the boyhada tree or bostinoux oubliette til 99.

At the moment just taking DRG up through the lower levels and have had great success in korroloka tunnel from around level 35 - 40 though things are starting to get too weak at 44 so got to look to moving on now.

Fei'yin is a nice option if you don't mind the run or can battlefield teleport to Qu'bia Arena. Page 1 will take you close to 60 if not into 60, and from there either page 3 or page 4 will take you into the 70s. The page of weapons right outside the zone to the Cloister of Frost will give you XP all the way up to 99, if I remember right.

Maze of Shakrami was really great all the way from 30 to 40; just be warned that you might want a blunt weapon for 30-35 there for the Ghouls on page 3. It might also be reasonable to do Page 2 from 25 to 30, but you will probably get aggro from the local Goblins. I'll try that out on the next class I level. From 35 to 40 on page 4, you will almost inevitably have to deal with Goblins and/or some adds if you can't pull with a ranged weapon.

As a level 40 DNC/WAR, decently geared (although I don't know how to gear for playing solo - should I prioritize more attack and VIT over all the accuracy?), I was having trouble in Sea Serpent Grotto. By the time I hit 44, it was a good deal easier, but I was still taken down by an unfortunate add. Still, I think it may be the best bet, because Crawler's Nest starts to become unsustainable at 39-40. Now trying as the opposite - WAR/DNC.

Consider subbing an MP-using job and using the FoV/GoV book refreshes.

From 1-75 it makes things a hell of a lot easier for the soloing melee.

Do not underestimate odd-combos like this just because they aren't ideal for party situations. If you want what works for party situations... then you should think about actually joining parties instead of soloing.

Is your EVA capped? For solo I geared ACC/EVA (basically my THF's gear).
If your ACC is fine (through food/some gear), and you already have Evasion capped then Attack could be good (and there is nothing wrong with VIT), but if you are missing (no TP gain) and getting blasted (no matter how much HP/Vit/Def you have, getting trucked is getting rolled) then I'd go with acc/eva gear.

If you are not soloing and are playing a Party DNC there are 2 other sets you could use :p Them being a Healing one (CHR+ gear) and "tank" (so the vit/def).
oh and then there is the DD/Acc/TP Gain set...

DNC...I decided to go back to BST, because if I was going to have that many gear sets..I wanted them on BST :p
