I can only seem to find information about Fishing, Smithing and Leathercraft torques.

Do others exist? Is it just a case of no one's found one yet?

So these are just the ones we know about? Or did they not add torques for all skills?

I can't imagine they would add only some of the crafts. Given the amount of effort involved to get one and the seemingly lower number of crafters out there I would surmise that they just haven't been discovered yet.

There aren't any others in the .dat files right now. Those listed are all the ones they currently have implemented in the game.

Well that's annoying. I'll have to content myself with the Smithing Torque, I suppose. Really did want a Goldsmithing one, though. Smiley: disappointed

Also worth taking Hocho into account (katana with cooking+3 that's been in the game forever), even if it's not a casket drop.

Given how long it's been since they introduced the GoV caskets, and how each zone only has 1 unique rare/ex drop (and given that there aren't any others in the .dats) the likelihood of there still being a torque for WW, GS, CC, and/or Cooking (especially cooking, see: Hocho) is zero.

What annoys me more than anything is that they're level 70, meaning that even if I get the Alchemy/Smithing torques, my Alchemy/smithing mule can't use them, because he's level 1 and staying there.

There's the Trainee Hammer which gives +1 smithing below 40 skill.

Well, level them to 70! Will take like 6 hours.

Eh... first time 'round with no support usually takes about six hours to just level 30 actually. Everything is a bit slower when your basic skills (Evasion and whatnot) are lagging behind your level by so much now. Not being able to utilize your main as powerleveling or travel guard slows it down a tad too.

And then in Abyssea you're again not tagging along with your main, so just getting it is a matter of pulling some strings, not to mention time invested just getting to maws without other means of transport and whatnot.

Getting a fresh character from 1 to 70+ is trickier than it sounds, not to mention weighing the value of getting/leveling a subjob.

So the best way is probably to bust out 30 in Gusgen and shell out the gil for some leech time, preferably with an already established group that can get you TEs within that first 30 minutes.

So yeah, not so trivial. That's also entirely the point of them being 70+.

There's a trainee thing for every craft, actually! Some of which are notable for acting as unique all-jobs weapons.

For instance, the Trainee Burin is the only all-jobs katana in the game. Vital for a WAR/NIN to be able to hit all 13 red procs in Abyssea (among other things; it's not an easy feat to be able to accomplish)

Wow, I did not know this. I shall be getting one of those! I have every other red proc!

Trainee Scissors for Clothcraft are a H2H weapon.

I like to wear mine on THF & use Flee. Smiley: grin

Just a thought. WAR/NIN won't have enough Katana skill to use Blade: Ei.

Not with base skill, nope. It is possible though:

base /49NIN skill, 150
merits, 166
hope torque, 173
kanja hachimaki, 178

It's actually much harder to get enough great katana skill for Tachi: Koki with /NIN sub. With /SAM sub it is easier, but WAR/NIN is currently the only way to be able to get 13/13 reds on a single character, and /NIN really makes you work for it:

base /49NIN skill, 139
merits, 155
justice torque, 162
kengo hachimaki, 167
bushinomimi, 172
moepapa annulet, 177

Moepapa Annulet drops from Arch Christelle, HQ version of Dynamis Valkurm boss. Have fun with that one. If there's any other ways to be able to get around those two bolded items, I don't know what they are >_>

On a semi-related note, if they would just release an all-jobs great sword, NIN/WAR would be able to 13/13 with FAR less effort. =/ Actually, scratch that, because at 4:40 in the morning it took me a while to realize that this is only assuming that you've won an Ark Scythe from the recent giveaway, which I did but not everyone has... time to sleep, I think

Eh ***** it. I'm leveling NIN any way. Though I could get those Katana things, not sure if I want to dump the merits, though. Was more interested in going for Great Sword merits.
