- It will be possible to skip the cutscene that occurs when zoning from Walk of Echoes to Provenance.

- The acquisition of other rewards will no longer be interrupted when a rare item already in one's possession is among the spoils obtained from a Riftworn Pyxis after selecting "obtain all."

- An upper limit on the frame rate for fishing animations has been implemented so as to decrease the gap experienced between different platform.

Speaking of fishing, any 100 level fishers here been able to skill up past 100 on Hakuryu? I was hoping to combine money making with skilling up but I've been fishing for days since unlocking 110 and no skill ups are forthcoming. I'm wondering if they cap at 100. I'm about to go back and try some Ryugu Titan on the ferry to see if that gives me any skill.

Yeah, Wint, *ryu will take you to 110, probably to 120 if/when they raise the cap again. I think in BG fishing thread people said most of their bots hit 110 within a week of the update. (They're not ashamed to admit running multiple fishbot accounts). Since autodepletion/recovery science indicates that many fish are level 120+, probably Ebisu fish, Ryugu Titan, and a number of others will all skill to 110, and also probably to 120. Unless they changed the caps around.

Anyways, I'm glad they're doing something to fix fishing. I can't reel in Haks or anything at all on my machine, I have to use the wife's ancient thinkpad because it's so slow. For people wondering what that's all about, for some reason SE thought it was a great idea that the faster your machine, the more the rod jerks around ;) PS2 are super easy to fish on, as are really crappy PCs, but modern PCs make it terrible. To give you an idea of the imbalance, take the "impossible" Ryugu Titan. I say impossible because in the short amount of reel in time, on my PC it changes the rod direction about 3-4 times per second without ever pausing. On my wife's laptop, it changes direction 5 or 6 times total in the entire time it's on the rod.

Yeah it's a nightmare, almost exhausting. Irritating to see them botting so openly, but whatever. What are they fishing up with their bots? Surely not Hakuryu?

If Cave Cherax can get you to 110 (they can), I'm sure Haks can...

Some folks aren't aware that many "legendary" fish have caps waaaaaaaaaay over 100, it's just that we've never really known about it for a while because that's what our limit used to be, and because fishing is That One "Craft" where it's easy to catch **** at levels way beyond you at the point where other crafts would not even allow you to attempt the synth.

I just don't get why I'm not getting any skillups then. Surely in the days I've been fishing since unlocking 110 I should have seen at least one skillup...

It's fishing. Skillup rate was already craptacular and spotty; it can only be expected to be even more so after 100.

Thankfully it's not like fishing skill means anything.

My wife has been skilling up on Liks and Gugrusaurus since getting her ebisu to help me get mine. They're potentially worth more money than haks too provided you can get them to sell fast enough.

That's not a bad idea, I just hate waiting for the AH. I guess I can leave a mule at Selbina. I'll give that a shot tonight and see if any skillups are forthcoming.

Greetings!

As some players have been testing out these adjustments on the test server, there were some comments mentioning that the processing felt a bit laggy.

Yoji Fujito mentioned in a post on the JP forum that there is a possibility that this could be a bug due to the imposed frame rate limitation; however, the original goal was to eliminate the difference between PC capabilities as well decrease the gap between different platforms, so slower processing is more or less what was being aimed for.

He also mentioned that the next phase of these fishing adjustments is to change the system so that instead of fish HP decreasing while you constantly hold down the directional keys, HP will decrease if you hit the directional key once.

If you haven’t tried it out for yourself yet, we highly recommend you test it out and let us know your feedback so we can relay it to the Development Team while it is still on the test server.

Eh? Looks like I had better make my way to the test server to see what this is going to do to my favorite in-game pastime.
