Fairly easy.

Within the Square Enix account manager on the website (same page where you created your SE account), you need to activate a content ID. This is basicly a subscription slot where you can place one single character. Since you have the 30 days free, you will not get billed for having this slot the first month.

After you have made a content ID, go into the Playonline Viewer and make your character there on the slot you purchased (for free this month).
