Hi.
I loved FFXI when i used to play it,and I am thinking of returning after a 3 year gap,I notice that a lot of the server were consolidated and was wondering if there are any combined Japanese/English speaking linkshells.and if so if they use a chat client like Ventrillo/Mumble/Teamspeak ?
I've been learning a little Japanese during the last few years and it would be nice if I could combine a return to FFXI with a chance to try out what i have learned and maybe encourage myself to learn more.

I've been accepted to mostly JP Linkshells before. A lot of them can understand basic English and others a lot of English. It's pretty nice.

I am in a shell which has a mix of German, english and one person from Norway.

I'm in a mixed English/Chinese/Taiwanese/Japanese shell that meets mostly during Asia time. We don't use chat clients too often except for a few people in small man events for the obvious reason of being a trilingual shell, a few ls leaders also act as translators between languages.
We aren't exactly a big shell but it has been growing lately (was stagnant/declining prior to all the new voidwalker stuff but we've exploded somewhat). It's a casual shell though so we don't take on anything that isn't popped and we leave plenty of time for people to do their own thing. We don't really go by a point system but rather turns, basically a "this guys been helping out but hasn't gotten anything lately so we will do what s/he wants". It's all semi-formal so if your a person that likes to nitpick and moan then don't expect to stay long.
