Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

Definetly need to cover the "Which server is best?" Question.

Also, you should mention that they have added a new beginner's quest line that continues from turning in your Adventurer's coupon, that gives you a free chariot band, reraise earring, and teaches you about trading, the auction house, equipping and using charges on an item, and a lot more.

So...which server IS best lol

Are things still broken down with the japanese dominating some servers and the north americans dominating others? I remember last time i played (which had to be like 4 or 5 years ago easy...the Asura server had just been created recently if that helps date it) there were a few servers that were very japanese, a few that were very american and then the majority of the rest were about equally mixed.

Another good thing to know is if any servers are low enough in population to be a problem. I do know a few servers are heavily populated with one of them (i forget which) actually locked so you can't make new characters there?

I figure most new players who post or read here are going to want a mostly english speaking server thats well populated without being horribly overcrowded...easy enough to find people for groups and a moving economy but obviously if one server is locked there are prolly a few that are near the breaking point lol

Nothing has changed since I left then, and that was almost a year ago (Maybe longer?). I have come to haunt your forums. Ooooooh spooky! No, this game was too time consuming, all MMOs seem to be. Good luck in everything you do to all the new players, old players, returning players, and players leaving this game <<< (TONS).

Added the tutorial, I knew I'd miss a few things!

And as for the best server:

Excellent Post. Im coming back to the game, and i think the community is the one that keeps drawing me back and probably why the game is so popular because of the community.

hi i'm a returning player. i played on the pandemonium server.
well technically i havent "returned" quite yet, but i have everything set up again. only problem is i can't remember my old play online id :/
and all my written info was lost during a move. if i can't figure out how to fix this i guess i'll have the "joy" of being a new player again. sigh haha

Have you called SE? They may be able to help you retrieve your old ID information.

Thanks for this thread, I am just returning to the game after a 5 year absense. I used to be a Hume redmage, but decided I would be a tarutaru whm this time around. I am starting in bastok since thats what I am most familiar with. I did not get very far with my old character. low 30's, any advice for me?

Hey I'm trying to return to ffxi after playing wow for several years. I have a couple questions. 1) Why is there no collection of the xpacs for the ps2 available in the us through retail stores right now? They are running $75-$150 on Amazon and I really don't want to risk that amount on a game that may be no good as far as codes/access. 2) I prefer playing on the ps2, however if i install the game and xpacs on a pc (for which xpacs are readily available for $15) are those codes all i need or do i still need to do an install of some sort on the ps2?

Perhaps you should also mention that if you don't own a credit card that supports 3-D Secure, they aren't interested in you as a subscriber.

8 - Is Final Fantasy XI dying?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Oh thank goodness because I don't know what I would do if FF XI dies, no please just don't talk that way. Then you said no and I thought whew!
I love this game and so that is great news, thanks for letting me know.
