Well I am thinking about coming back to the game, I do miss it from time to time. Just getting stuff done and going in the right direction would require a good and friendly linkshell.

This is once again another I am coming back thread. Now, I keep getting this bug every few years. I'll start, I'll stop, here and there. never had enough RL friends who played and could never find a linkshell that actually was social in the time i played. I originally started back in June of 04 and its been a love hate every few years. Back to the point, My character is currently on the Shiva Server. My highest is a 68 Blue Mage. I would like to come back but i would like to have somewhere to come back to. I was thinking of maybe xfering back to the home server i started at which is Siren. But again that is dependent on if i can find people. I'm looking for a social linkshell. people who could help me level or instruct me on the best and new places to go. I have great memories of the story of the game and i love the world. But never having anyone to interact with has always been my downside. Thank you again for your time and willingness to assist.

So l'm thinking of returning, gotten bored with the other mmo's out there, but l've been gone for almost 6 years now, and l know alot has changed. l went through this thread and it still didn't answer some of the questions l had, so here's hoping that some of you fine ppl can help me out :D. l was on Midgar last l played, sadly it is no more. So what is the econemy like now? like for example at the time Hogan (SAM katana/greatsword thingy) was going for about 1.8-2 mil on midgar. What are some popular classes ppl are looking for? Durring my time it was always a tank class, mostly pld, nin... l understand that now at level cap ppl are expecting a good amount of pld's and nin's to have BIS or pretty damn close lol, and l dont want to start with a pld, put all that work into getting level capped and hitting a wall cuz ppl dont want a fresh pld, which is understandable. l'm sure whm's are always in demand. But what other classes?

So much has changed from what l've been reading about it, and l dont understand most of it D: , like for example another post says at 10 or so, go to Gusgen? (something like that lol) and shout for a "book party"? what the hell is that? Back when l was still playing it was like, get to 10, head to Jeuno, get a party, head to qufim, then head to kazham or whatever your level range was. Now there are these Campaign's and fields of Valor and level sync... and just.... ya l'm sure you understand what l'm trying to say lol. But l guess what l'm getting at is, l'm looking for some insight as to which class would be best/easier to get parties for (which l understand at lower levels will be hard regardless of class due to the lack of lower levels playing). Is it possible to solo now in the game if l'm not a bst? Last time l tried that it didn't work out too well, easy prey was very misleading :(

On Pandemonium, I used to play pretty hardcore back in the day when that was the thing to do. HNM camping windows, DIEnamus, Sky/Sea, That other place I forget its name where you had to pay 50,000gil for soap to get in and ended up going for omega/ultima weapons. After seeing all the changes and the more fun it seems to be. . . I'm thinking about coming back in January if any large active LS's are open to inviting veterans of the old time I would be happy to hear from them!

Not looking to join an endgame LS at this point obviously, but a large LS for the fact that my hours of play are pretty whacked and before I join a server I just want to be able to jump in again :D!

None of your gear/exp/money will have gone away if the character's been reactivated.

The controls are a bit different if you go keyboard- but you can get PC-friendly controllers (I'm a horrid keyboarder, sue me!).

The road to 99's set up considerably easier than the old road to 75 was. One can expect to get up to your limit break pretty darn quick compared to the old days thanks to the solo, repeatable "book" quests you can pick up in a ton of places. Basically, it'll go "Hey, kill these monsters" and give you an exp reward that increases each time you repeat it (up to a certain cap), which accelerates your leveling considerably. Around 30th or so, you're going in groups like this for at least another 25 levels or so...and once you hit Abyssea, leveling 30+ becomes obscenely quick by old standards.

As to who's on Garuda- if you remember their names, go check ffxiah and see if they're still active there. If they're buying and selling, odds are SOMEONE is on the account, hopefully the person you knew 5 years ago. :)

I just want to know one thing. Which server has the most drama? Cause thats exactly where I want to be :)
