Been soloin at East Ronfaure (S) right outside Sandy. Worms and rabbits there seem to be about the same lvl as the mobs in S. Gustaberg (S).

Gnats are aggressive last I encountered them, by sight. Same with any ladybugs if you happen across them. And, I noticed the monsters in the past hit -very- hard. A Tough rabbit in buburimu hits me for 15ish whereas a DC rabbit in west saru [S] hits me for 29. But that's just my experience.

This could be because you might have had Signet in the Present, which gives +Defense and +Evasion on mobs that con Tough or lower that you currently are on Auto-Attack (engaged) with.

In the past, you have Sigil, which doesn't give this as far as I know.

are there any mobs in the three starting areas from the past that one could level with a lv 1 job?

Considering that the weakest mobs right outside of Sandy I saw, were the rabbits, and one of those took 4 hits from my WHM75's Morgenstern...well, 3 hits anyways. 4th killed it. I'd have to say, no.

Weakest mobs outside of the starting nations is about level 9-11~.

that kind of stinks
but i guess it makes it more challenging.
Plus I do like how SE has made all new camps for jobs that are not in there 70s, so im grateful.

Clarification here, Smilodons DO NOT link, spent a bit farming hides from them, and they were constantly walking around me. Several times they stopped right in front of me, and just stood there and watched as I murdered their friends.

This was in Batallia Downs [S] btw, I'd assume the same holds true for Smilodons in other areas.

"Dhalmel" was their name? Good find, I completely forgot I haven't even check that area of the map yet. I might venture the areas of North Gusta and East Ron if I can find other mobs. I've been looking for a set of mobs that would be suitable for 25-30 solo-ish, but I haven't come across any in the past.

Savannah Dhalmel was the name, forgot how to spell Savannah at the time of my last post, lol.

Edit: And the Ornery(?) Sheep right next to the N.Gustaberg[S] maw are 25-27, might be 24-27 in level. I should go check the spider level as they were still IT last I checked.

Edit 2: Huge Spider's in N.Gustaberg seem to be 35-38 just like the Savannah Dhalmel, saw a couple EM's on my 35DNC.

Gnoles? You can only reliably solo then during certain moon phases, i can';t imagine dealing with 1800~ heals for WS's in a party, i find that this may be a situational mob :(

Added Ornery Sheep camp.

Thanks to all for your contribution. Hopefully within the course of the following week I'll be able to add in a bunch more mobs. I've located a handful of monsters no one has mentioned yet, I just haven't pin pointed their levels:

North Gustaberg [S]

Rock Eater
Coppercap
Huge Hornet
Maneating Hornet

East Ronfaure [S]

Walking Tree
Battrap
Ladybug

Grauberg [S]

Rock Eater
War Lizard
Wivre

The lower section of fort karuga-naruga and guraburg(sp) have a lot of mid level mobs in them that could easily be in the 30-50 range. Vorpal bunnies and more mandies ect..

This is amazing because if you level in the passed all of your camps that will take you to mid to higher level are fairly close together. I am not sure if this is good or bad but I am sure that leveling faster is good so..

yeah dont forget those areas..

Oh and I amd pretty sure that toads and gnoles are not good xp mobs.
as a 75 I have almost been slayed by a few linking TW toads ><........

So yeah.. pull with care.

I just want to add another note about the Toads in SarutaBaruta...

They do NOT use any TP moves at all. No frog song or anything of the sorts; however, to counteract this they have a constant rate of attack at a pretty decent speed (I'd probably compare it to the speed of the Beestinger).

Added a newly found worm camp.

Located in Grauberg [S], right by North Gustaberg [S] zone. About 8 worms, roughly level 33-35 (DC to a lvl 36).

Added a 2nd worm camp, located all along the area north of the river at H-7 in North Gustaberg [S]. About 32-35 roughly. Coppercaps (shrooms), also located in this area, about the same level but not sure there range. They do not aggro.

Tested this as a 26-27 trio party. Excellent EXP.

Added the following:

Rock Eater camp Grauberg [S] around D-14, good for small parties (33-35)
Walking Sapling camp in Grauberg [S] around D-14, good for small parties (36-37)
War Lizard camp in Grauberg [S] around D-14, good for small parties (42-44)

The follow camps would be more easily accessed when they release chocobos, but can be walked:

Stag Beetle camp in Jugner Forest [S] around K-9 (43-46)

And this camp which I'd like to point out in detail:

F-6/F-8/F-9 - Carrion Marabou / Goliath Beetle camps (36-38 / 34-36(?) respectively) in Vunkerl Inlet [S]

There are 3 separate camps for this, and can support up to 5 parties total from the looks of it. This can possibly replace the camps of Yhoator Jungle. It's a bit of a walk if you use OP to Vunkerl Inlet, but once Chocobos are available it should be much easier.

I have not tested if the mobs link or not, but they certainly don't aggro. Also the mobs are close together, suitable for a stationary camp in multiple locations for each grid. In addition, there are no other mobs to kill parties during EXP. Little more detail in the table above.

My perma tried to merit off of Gnats in the Meriphitaud Mountains camp on Saturday night, it didn't go so well. First off, they hit really hard (150-250 on a DRK75)and seem to either have a move that increases attack speed, or they attack faster as their hp gets lower. They have a move called Pandemic Nip that transfers all debuffs on the mob to the person with hate; nothing sets the mood like the tank getting Gravity, Slow II, and Dia II all at the same time. They also have a move that gives AoE spider-slow, the kind that can only be erased, not hasted over.

The Gnats gave about 80-90 exp a piece to a five man party, all with Sigil. Chains do make it the exp better, but it's hard to keep pulling at the speed needed by the party since the mobs are pretty far apart. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of HP, but noticeable more than Colibri.

In the end, I'd suggest a blink tank or a group of /nin; even then, the AoE slow move is really nasty. Mages will burn through all their mp casting Erase on everyone, then re-hasting. We didn't get to test how well Sleep sticks to Gnats, so I can't say for sure how well manaburns may work on them.

Sauromugue Champaign (S) (G-7)

Basically the same as the 18-20 camp but for high 30s-low 40's pt.

PREY: Diving Beetles (were checking VT-IT to lvl 41 THF)

Camp in the little corridor, in the little area south of you are about 5 or so beetles and more beetles spawn along the spine to the north, not tried it yet, cant see it being any different from the present day version, just 20 or so levels later...except maybe a little safer 'cause there are no Weapons in the past by the spine thing and you get to have the Sigil bonuses (which seem to have all the bonuses of Signet as well as the option to get Refresh/Regen/Mealtime i.e No TP loss while resting, small pt exp+ and stuff).

Excellent compilation! Thank you very much. I've used it already and plan to refer to it more as my static progresses.

One thing I noticed different from your OP, I was able to stack all three Sigil boni today: Refresh, Regen and Food Duration. Could be a result of Brass Ribbon rank. Maybe someone else can confirm.

N. Gustaberg [S]

I tried the Stone Eater road trip in N. Gustaberg [S] with a trio of lvl 16s: SCH, BLU and SAM. We managed to get chain 5 while roaming the road. We did well enough with two soloers also sharing the worms off and on (not able to get the high chains with them), but best for a party if you have the worms to yourself.

Grauberg [S]

I also visited the Ajattara camp at Skyrend while exploring. Plenty of wyverns for multiple parties, but only one safe spot that I saw if you're actually camping as opposed to roaming, and that's at Skyrend [C-8] itself (where you can see into Old Konschtat Highlands). Most conned VT at 75, but were a few ITs thrown in as well. Was a party of 5 xping on them while I was there and doing very well even without dispel. Nin/War, Nin/Dnc, Sam, Pup/Whm with Whm auto and a Thf. All were 75 except the Thf who was 68 or 69. Looks like a very nice merit camp.

Vunkerl Inlet [S]

Took an XP party of five lvl 68s through here exploring the sunday after the expansion. Can't say had much luck that day, but the zone is pretty and large and has potential.

A note about Gnoles. My first day out with the xpansion, I killed many gnoles in Battalia Downs [S] for their claws with 3-4 lvl 75s. No problems. Then on my trip though Vunkerl, my party of five took on an EM Gnole [E-7] and took 2-3 minutes to kill it. Their healing move made fighting them like walking through mud. They don't do anything nasty, but the healing makes fighting XP level Gnoles a pain.

Gigas + Ignis Djinn [J-6]: There is a "hidden" beastmen camp off the map here with Gigas and bombs mixed in. The Gigas were IT to my party at 68 and the bombs were lower (VT if I recall). We wanted to fight the Gigas only, but there were a pair of bombs in the way. Ignis Djinn have normal bomb moves, but are dark based. Had two blow up on us for over 5k damage.

Orcs + Ignis Djinn [I-11]: Didn't visit this camp in person, just noted it on widescan. Very accessible via CA warp though. Also has bombs mixed in with the orcs.

Confirmation on the Gnoles.
Agreed I soloed one at 75 in the downs it was a pain in the ***.
They Do a 1/2 healing move at about 25%. (after 3 of those my mp was thin :/)
I had to setup a penta for the finish.

About the beetle camp I posted about for Sauromugue Champaign (S)...managed to get out there and try it with a 4 man level 40 pt (2x WAR/NIN a THF and a SMN, all RL friends ^^) and it was awesome, chain 4 pretty much all the time, chain 5 a couple of times. By the time we got to 42 there were some Tough pops mixed in with the VT and IT which might put off a fuller party than ours, was very nice exp though for us.
