Ok once per game day you can get a new costume only after I got the costume cancelled and traded did I recieve items.

First day traded cookie got yagudo costume. Cancelled it and traded more of the same sweets to different npc's got Trick Staff II.

Waited a day traded got costume cancelled and trade about three more sweets to different NPC;s and got pumpkin head.

Last day traded got quadav costume cancelled and traded 3 or 4 more cookies to random NPC's got pumpkin head II.

To my knowledge any sweet works as well as the other.

Will update as the days prgress hope this helps.

What do you mean when you say Cancel? You throw away the Custume after you get to get item instead?
#3 Oct 20 2005 at 9:43 PM Rating: Decent
You cancel a costume the same way you cancel any other status effect (push + until you're highlighting it, then push Enter).

If you press the "+" button on the Numbpad twice you are able to cancel positive status effects (Souleater, Last Resort, Haste, etc).

I thinks that what he means when he says "Cancel". Its either that or you zone, which removes the costume.

The costume isn't an item it just changes your appearance and it shows at the top of your screen like a buff. The symbol is two shirts it looks like, once you appear as a mob cancel it like you would a buff i.e.Protect or Shell. On PS2 you hit triangle until the symbol is highlighted with a yellow box and cancel it by pressing X.

After doing this you should get an item on one of your very next trades.

Is it just the Pitchfork NQ/HQ that is new this year? Or is there anything else?

Old Items:
Trick Staff I/II
Treat Staff I/II
Pumpkin Head I/II
Horror Head I/II

The only items that were actually useful were Treat Staff II [Warp every 128 hours] Trick Staff II [10 warp chargse 24 hour timer] and maybe Pumpkin Head I/II for Enmity-1/+1 macro for BLM or NIN. The Horror Heads were either -50Enmity or +50Enmity but.. only on Darksday + Full Moon or some retarded condition like that. Then there was the Treat Staff with it's "Latent Effect: Warp" which conditions were either during halloween or Darksday + Full Moon or something. Lame.

Update with info on any useful items.

I'll probably be selling Ginger Cookies NPCed at 9G each for 100G each to the newbs.

I think Ginger Cookies work, since it's a sweets. I heard people get Trick Staff and Pumpkin head with Ginger Cookie. Can anyone confirm if trade different sweets get better item such as Trick Staff II, etc.? Good thing I buy 99 Ginger Cookies before the events. Can't wait to log on and get my Trick Staff and Pumpkin head.

Yes as far as I can tell any sweets work personally I have been using ginger cookies but will switch to garlic crackers in light of another post here.

Yes all old items are available 3 game days and I have 3 items.

Trick StafII warp 1o charges every 24hrs.

Pumpkin Head Enmity-1.

And Pumpkin HeadII Enmity+1.

Edited: I have all items from any harvest festival I have partaken in either in inventory or equipped.

on the fourth game day I will add next item or update I am playing as I post.

I will add more specifics next time as to what I had equipped when the item was recived. Hopefully news of a pitchfork soon. :)

What I find funny is on the official note regarding Harvest Fest is this appears;
-Talk to an event moogle during the festival to find out more. Perhaps a surprise awaits...
Despite the fact before that emergency maintenance there weren't any event moogles, least none I saw, maybe they're gonna be the way to get the pitchforks, whenever SE decides to add em

Wasn't there some sort of special trick to what things to give the NPCs? I'm talking about last year where people just stood in front of the NPCs trading stacks upon stacks of goods to them and maybe walking away with one or two items, and it wasn't until the end that someone found that there was some sort of trick to it, which I seem to have forgotten, or maybe there wasn't and my brain is just going down the crapper...

Maybe I should stop eating all this halloween candy. (@_@)

Anyone who was around last year recall anything like that?

If I were to guess I'd bet you would need the Treat Staff II, Horror Head II to get the Pitchfork II.

I think the best way to get good prices is by buying overpriced pies from me...

Seriously though, it should be a lot easier this year, with cheap cookies that stack to 99. Last year, all I did was just stand in front of nonmoving NPCs and spam them with cheap stuff. Now you can do that even longer with cookies :P. Last year, people were advertising that hugely marked-up pies would give a better chance of a good prize.

To get the pitchfork you need to party up with a friend (old or new ^^), both trade sweets to an npc for a costume (i'm assuming they need to be different costumes), then you both drag yourselves thru one of the 3-4 holiday decorations (those cool orange bomb-looking things) to get your pitchfork.

Here's how I got mine in South San d'Oria:

Party of 2
One got costume (skeleton) from Coura (G-9)
Other got costume (ghostie) from Phamelise (K-9)
Both walked thru (no clicking necessary) MH decoration up by South Sandy residential area and *poof* both got pitchforks.

Not sure yet how ya get the HQ, but we're workin' on it.

Good luck and have fun!
