Evanesce: Hello! *glomp*

Q: What exactly is a glomp?

I'm glad you asked ^^ While different people have slightly differing ideas on what a glomp really is, it's generally considered a sort of tackle-hug, where you run up to the person and hug them tightly. Here are a couple links with different explanations ^^

Glomp

Glomp

...and a few links to pictures ^^

How to Glomp

Glomp, Inc.

I Glomp Bishounen

And... this one is sorta strange, and not a prime example, but it's kinda funny =P

Glomped!

There are a lot of other pictures, I'm not gonna flood you with threads though~ Hope that clears things up, good fortune to ya, no? *glomp*

Credit goes out to Nattack, for asking me this question in the first place ^^

And a shout out to Lucky Linkshell, the Glompificate Nation of Luck-Related, Cookiefied Rainbowisms!

And *glomp*ing is never to be confused with *glurb*ing. Woe are those who confuse the two.

How does this work with genders?

Can a male glomp another male?

Or can a male glomp a female? (I am really light and can't run fast therefore I lack momentum...meaning less pain...But I am over 190 cm...)

Also, how do males who have been glomped by other males react?

My personal feelings on gender are:

In real life, I believe in opposite genders glomping one another, unless we're talking about children, in which case genders are pretty meaningless. What's wrong with a kiddo glomping their mum or dad, y'know? ^^ Of course, if everybody feels comfortable with the glomping, I'd say overall it doesn't matter, really. I'd like to note that glomping is not supposed to be even a bit suggestive, it's merely a way of showing one's affection, like a hug.

Online, it 100% doesn't matter a bit. Glomping is a fun way to greet people online or show that you care ^^

Nothing more satisfying than having some anime-obsessed fat chick football tackle you after getting a head start from the other side of the freakin' room.

I swear if I hear someone say that word in real life I'm gonna punch them in the face. Unless it's a girl, you shouldn't hit girls because they're weak and sensitive.

Since glomping is considered to be a relatively intimate action, it should be done with friends and other close associates. It is considered extremely rude (and in some cases can be considered a form of assault) to glomp a stranger

thats some pure natural rofl right there.

This actually happened to me at an anime convention (some pics) not once, but twice! I don't know exactly what made me so glompable (the "hentai inside" t-shirt maybe) to these two other guys, but I'm relatively liberal, so it was no big deal. But I can imagine some guys being glomped by other guys wigging out.
