Ok, I have a Sanyo 8100 (Sprint PCS) and I can get to the site. Just can't download anything. When I select what I want to get it just sits there.

Ok on Counter Strike.. I "think" that might be a Motorola Version.. cause thats what I always played it on, My 3650 did the same thing when I tried to DL that one..
So I uploaded a Siemens version, it INSTALLS and LOADS.. however.. the control.. is odd..........

Menu is like used by "Right" and "Down" it seems.. 1 and 3 are also up and down.

Once you SOMEHOW manage to select your team.. all the numbers will be how to move around.. and "5" is to fire.

Not the best way to play a game.. but checking to see if I can install that CS one manually vs DLing, if I can do it, ill let you know, if not.. chaulk it up to one of the games we cant use. =/ After all, said some are based on Motorolas J2ME.

As for the nMode thing.. arent you in the process of going Cingular too? I mean I know in VA we already did.. could be the cause of the network issues. Does http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com work? (note thats a Z not S)

If THAT site works, Ill look at this more.. but if it doesnt.. then I am gonna think its AT&T messing up with that whole Cingular move. =/

Awesome - although to annoy my boyfriend to the maximum can I please have the Sandy music? He's been caught whistling it before so having it on my phone would drive him nuts :D

Isnt the sandy music on there? I mean San dor or what?

Also that CS file.. well a manual install worked.. but game crashed at main screen.. sigh.. siemens one is odd to play on as I said.

I kinda find that hard to belive.. I mean do you have a internet plan with Verizon? I mean one where your allowed to access WAP sites?

If you can see the 4 choices and so, and when you click on a wallpaper, what does it say? If you do same for ringtone or java, what does it say?

They use a crippled wap browser. If you click on a jpg it only shows you the picture. On a midi it says Object ready but then no options to do anything with it. :)

Ok when you hit menu, it doesnt list that you can save it?
If not.. do something for me.. call 611 ask the customer care rep about this and to transfer you over to data services. See what they can see.. cause I mean.. I havent met a phone yet that doesnt want you to DL content on the WAP browser. But can you call to confirm that with them?

Also I am glad that alot of you are making use of this!
Seems page has had 290 hits according to the stats. Whats funny is, log shows bandwitdh STILL less then 1 meg lol. =)

Gotta love small files. ^_^

Also this wap site shouldnt go down... as I normally use this for myself to restore my ringtones or something or just a quick access to something... but I wouldnt mind making a FFXI wap site portal.. that could be cool.. imagine reading text or guides from your cell phone or info sheets.... Anyone interested in maybe something like this or would it not really be used..?

Then again.. posting fan fiction from the forums I saw on the wap site COULD be interesting reading when your bored..

I was wondering, maybe, possibly, *perhaps*, if you get time, could you, maybe, possibly, put up an HTML version? I'm using a Motorola V180, on T-Mobile, but my T-Zones is diabled. (Cheap *** plan)

However, with t-mobile, you can e-mail any media file to your phone by mailing yourphonenumber@tmo.com, so, if I can get my hands on these, it will still cost me a quarter per mb of file transfer, but I'll be able to get them nonetheless.

(And it would make you my bestest friend in the whole wide world)

Yea I am on T-Mobile as well. =)

You should get the 5$ T-Zones.. know why? Think about this.. you can activate it.. grab the stuff from the site, then take the feature off again. What good is this?

You can DL the stuff for free to your phone, access more ringtones and all, and DONT Have to pay .25 per.. only to find out maybe that it doesnt work on your phone!

However a HTML version is in the making with thumbnails possibly.. or maybe least a raw index. =) Since my focus is on WAP page not a fan site.. since so many out there already with the stuff.

Calling testers to help me test a new feature maybe!

Hey all.. In the "Java" folder I uploaded a file called "Test.txt" please click that and tell me if your phone reads it.. I know the 3650 will. Please post your model if it DOES show. The reason I am asking.. I am debating on using fan fiction stories or maybe small guides or reference charts via the phone. This way those of you who post stories here or funny things like the Taru babies....

Ok Scratch that!!!
In the new menu layout.. click "ffxitext"
Just had a idea.. in the ffxitext folder you will see a "text.txt" and a "tarubabies.txt" see if your phone can read both of them and let me know.. The Taru Babies is the post about where Taru Babies come from. Was funny.. figured its good to upload it. =)

Just had that idea.. had to jump on it and I HOPE your phones can read simple text files via WAP.. if so, I can upload jokes, stories and MAYBE some guides.. granted.. would help to have submissions too. =) I just find my stuff around here..

Any Alla mods who maybe want some sorta mod for this to use with Alla, let me know. Could be neat.. but right now.. just glad this is getting used.. Cell phones are here and why not use em.. In Japan. They are reading full E-books on theirs! Why not have something FFXI for us.. =D

Awesome job. Thanks for your contributions! ^^ Just one thing, the volume on the ringtones is very low compared to all my other ringtones, is this something you can change? Unfortunatly, I cannot use the ringtones because of this T-T

WOW!!! This is great! I just d/led the Zi'tah file. It's so cool to hear in-game music on my cell phone.

Too bad I can't d/l the Ronfaure music. ; ; I'm on a Nokia 6800. And the wallpapers are awsome too! (Good job!) I rated all of your posts up in here.
#39 May 12 2005 at 12:29 PM Rating: Good
I noticed that the ringers seemed abit low too..
Not sure HOW to increase midi volume.. I mean I know you can with WAV files.. but Midi is just notes.. I have no clue how to make them louder.. if anyone else does let me know and Ill reconvert them.

Great site, been looking around for awhile for a free site that supports my phone (Sony Ericson T616) but could never find one, til now at least ^^.

Everything on the site seemed to work for my phone except for a couple Java games, and the two text files (the text.txt, and tarubabies).

Just throwing out some feed back, keep up the great work on it ^^.
#41 May 12 2005 at 2:04 PM Rating: Good
Darn.. was hoping text files wouldve worked better.. sigh.. might HAVE to make them a php based text file for wap browsing maybe.. Ill see what I can do. Need to look at it more how to format something like that.

As for Java, Yea that I know wont work on every phone, but I know Tetris should work fine. =)

Thanks for the feedback!

Hmm. Okay, so I activated T-zones for the $5, didnt actually know it was that cheap ^^.

Now, when I enter T-zones, It gives me several options, "My Album" "My Journal" "My Email" "Games" "Hi-Fi ringers" and "Wallpapers". Opening any of these opens the browser, but I get a 504 error when the browser connects.

My question is, after I wait for t-mobile to update my account, how do I get to your page to begin with? I understand this:

Quote:
Load up your cell phones browser and use the menu or option to "Goto Url" and type in
{ http://wap.darkmystics.com }

But I cant figure out how to open just a regular browser. Since you are using T-Mobile as well, I was wondering if you might point me in the right direction? Thanks for all of this!

Edit: I'm an idiot, found it. ^^

Heh glad you found it. Yea T-zones page is a portal as well. Its nice.. you can check your email etc and do AIM for free or Yahoo etc, also you can check news weather stocks, or in this case find good wap sites with good info!

Also which phone are you using again? Also once your in my site, can you provide feedback on how it worked and how the text files worked in the ffxitext folder? Just trying to make this the best I can for everyone or see what I need to edit to make it better.

Doesnt take too long to be fully active, sometimes you can turn your phone off and on and long as it doesnt error saying "You plan doesnt support this feature" youll be ok in accessing this site. Just provide feedback so I know what to work on. =)

Also yes.. Ill have a HTML version out soon.. dont expect it to be too much though! Heh.

I'll go through the whole thing tonight, or whenever they update my account, they said up to twenty-four hours, from what I read about your WAP it seems to be very useful ^^.

I'm on a Motorola V180, I'll try it on the wife's phone tonight as well and let you know how that turns out.

Thanks again ^^.

It seems like the T-mobile Sidekick isn't supported. I might be wrong but my phone isn't even bringing up the wap page... gets stuck at requesting...

Heck I don't even know if you can DL ringtones for the sidekick outside of the t-mobile items.... Maybe someone could clarify that by chance?

On my LG 3100, both text files came out fine.
#47 May 12 2005 at 6:04 PM Rating: Good
Thanks for the feedback on the LG phones working with text.. maybe I can do it after all..

Also on the sidekick, I did alot of work with that too. BEST place to learn about SK is at
http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=263

I post there in those forums under my normal username "Mysticales" Alot of sites tell you how to do things, basically youll need a developer key and flash your device, THEN you can upload your own stuff and free things using the cable it came with.

Sidekick does not support WAP sadly. Only HTML, however the HTML version I am making should work with the Sidekick as well.

Ok update on HTML stuff.. Im gonna remake my FFXI section of my guild which will include all this stuff and the html version, just give me some time to code it and all. But then youll see the html version, my guild stuff for linkshell. That and all the stuff and maybe more.. I have some ideas on a new macro database.. if anyone wants to help out on that one, let me know. (Basically downloadable macros for jobs)

Just always rem, my sig has this post linked, so if you lose track of it.. just look for a post of mine.. shouldnt be too hard with the rate I am posting lol!

Update: HTML Support!

http://www.darkmystics.com/ffxi/downloads/

Just for NOW, you can access it raw here for HTML users.
No thumbnails etc.. just raw directory. Should be good for now to all those who want to see whats what or want to DL a different way to get it on their phone. =)

Motorola V180 stats:

Main Page:

Ringtones working well, "Cleaning out my closet": Invalid File

Java:

Tetris: Invalid File

MIDPMAN: Invalid File

FFXI

All working wonderfully ^^

Ffxipic:

Group.Gif: "Image too large to open"

All others, Up and working perfectly!

Ffxitext:

Both files open and are readable, works great.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Excellent work! San'd Orian Flag looks great as a wallpaper, and waking up in the middle of the night to Chocobo Dash ringing in your ear is surprisingly scarier than it should be.

I haven't actually tried to play any of the games yet, mostly because I'm at work and if I stop typing my boss will think I'm not working.

Anywho, thanks a million ^^

Ok maybe I'm just being dumb. SprintPCS service provider, SamsungVGA1000 phone.

I can access the site fine, view the pictures, hear the midis, etc. But after that... they don't do anything. I see now download option anywhere, they're not saved anywhere on my phone that I can tell. So how do I put them on my phone? I looked in the user guide and on the Sprint website, and all they have to offer for help is how to download the files that are bought from them.

Any idea how I can get the files on my phone? Thanks in advance.
