Good guide, but a few things popped into my head that you should add.

1) Defkautt's Tower. You should be at LEAST level 40, probably 50 if you want to maximize this, and sub THF (At least level 15, but you can get away with level 5 if you are really cheap). Essentially all you do is run around, and kill any Gigas/Giants you see. You are farming gil off these bad boys, and they drop around 200 gil each if I remember correctly (it is been a long time). Any job can do this, but of course, the melee's are better suited for this than mages, but I have seen White mages farming here. You can also get Light Elementals, but I am unsure of their level, and if you could take them.

2) Crawlers nest. Buy 10-20 Stacks of Rolanberries from Jueno (They are sold by an NPC), equip up, and head to Crawlers Nest. The recommended level for this would have to be 60ish to do this effectively. You trade the Rolanberries to the ??? in the sac room, and the Guardian Crawler pops. Sometimes he does not pop when you trade Rolanberries to the ???, but try again, and he will eventually pop. He drops a dated rolanberry, which you can trade to an NPC in selbina (Again, dont know the name, maybe someone can fill this out) for 800-900 gil a pop. If you are a high enough level to effectively do this, then you can farm these very quickly for a lot of money.

Just a couple ideas, feel free to add them ^_^

I couldn't help but notice that you put Taber Beaks in at 45+.

I would just like to note that while I have no problem at 50 killing the little buggers, they do have gaze type attack which can petrify you.

I have had the mob down to a single hit left and they would petrify me. Eventually they would bring me down after whittling away my hp from over 700.

I assume that since it is a gaze type attack, you can turn away from them and have it not work, but after dying and deleveling to it, I haven't gone back to test the theory.

Or maybe SE did away with those levels...

What a troll, he tries to help out and thats how you contribute, by trolling him?

9-20 Beehive chips are nice.

10-30 Beastmen are nice, Helms, backplates etc.

30-35 Rams are good.

you really are flaming someone for posting advice that EVERYONE could use? i remember someone else did this a few months ago and had the same result...

/sigh

btw great guide, theres alot of other places too though:

Lufaise Medows: Miseltoe off leshys

they drop like 1/4 but a level 75 gets hit pretty damn hard from them... i never have seen a level 55 or so mob tackle a 75 thf as hard as these guys did, expect ALOT of downtime if you dont have bloody bolts, and a not so great drop rate;; but theres a ton of them here and you might get lucky.

Any suggestions for farming items that can be sold to NPCs, in case your AH slots are usually full?

Batillia Downs - Tiger fangs can be sold to an NPC for a nice sum.

Valkurm

Hill Lizard: Lizard Skins. Train kill lizards for big profit on the skins and fast turnover.
Fire Elemental: Appears on any given day between 10:00-16:00. It pops @ (E-8) on the ridge. When that fire icon appears, hit flee and run for the claim.

Please remove this from your guide, Valkurm is no place to farm, There are so many people trying to exp there, down at the konstacht zone and up in the north west section, it is simply rude and causes problems because it is hard enough to lvl through that place anyway.

35+ Dangruf Wadi - ride the geyser up to farm (don't remember the location)

Gobs- Animal Glue off ambushers, various armor (I npc them), spells
Lizzies - to pop Steam Lizard who drops Steam Scale mail
Leeches - fiend blood (~100 gil to an npc)
Worms - ore, flint stones (trade for quest in bastok, or sell on AH), Hermit's Rings

I've easily made over 90k in one night farming here for 3-4hours. Not great, but not bad if you want an area with not much competition.

While the people near the Konschtat Highlands zone do level on hill lizards, those who level near the secret beach (i.e. the northwest section) generally level exclusively on goblins. Very few parties who are leveling on hill lizards choose to camp near the secret beach because of the large number of goblin spawn points.

I myself farm lizard skins up near the secret beach and have come across parties leveling there many times. Each time, I make sure they're not leveling on hill lizards, but the fact of the matter is that if they're choosing to level all the way up there, hill lizards are likely not their target.

Edit: I did not rate you down.

Those are the hardest levels for me to suggest on because I didn't start farming till 35+. However if anybody makes suggestions I will be more than happy to add them in ;)

MavrikCorky: Thanks for the Delkfutts and Crawler's Nest ideas. Man, that CN method is a CAPITOL idea! I'm going to have to hit that.

Thanks for the reminder. I added a disclaimer explaining the petrify. As a MNK I only got killed at 45 when I got too greedy. I.E.: I had just killed 3 tabars, I was below 1/3 health, I see a pop and then I see somebody running toward it so I claim it fast. Then I get petrified and die. LOL--good times.

Good point. I added a disclaimer suggesting that people only farm the lizards at the hidden-beach side of the map. Gotta respect the lowbies!

Just a few notes for clarification:

Dangruf Wadi:

The Steam Scale Mail is dropped only by the NM Geyser Lizard, which spawns in two locations within Wadi. Steam Lizards, on the other hand, drop only skins, tails and the occasional Wadi Chest Key (the chest holds cheap stones like Lapis Lazuli, a lowbie WHM shield, or gil, which can net you about 700-2000 gil). Also, the Wadi hares drop Gausebit Grass as well, which tend to sell better in Jeuno than anywhere else.

Pashow Marshlands:

The Malboros drop Dodge Headbands, which NPC for about 2K, or AH for about 3K. I have never seen one drop the shield pendant that you mention. Don't forget the funguars for their shrooms. Also, the two NMs, Bloodpool Vorax (leech which drops Bloodbead Amulet) and Jolly Green (Goobbue which drops Shaman's Belt) can be a nice 20-30K chunk of change each.

Rolanberry Fields:

You can steal silver beastcoins from the Quadavs, and the Garnet variety drops Mauls, which NPC for about 2K. They also drop random WHM/RDM scrolls, some of which sell for about 1-2K each on AH.

Qufim:

Check the weather, and when the Light Elementals are out, time to farm!

Of course, there are other places for higher level players, but other than that, great guide!^^

A couple corrections on the Dangruf Wadi information:

- The geyser lizard is a timed spawn that isn't related to killing other lizards.

- Giant Grubs drop zinc ore (1/6), sulfur(1/2), flint stones(1/1), and hermit's rings(1/10). Of these, you'll make by far the most money off sulfur.

* All drop rates are with TH2

for 50+ I'd say Pashow Marshlands can give big returns, if you farm it right. You need a /25thf to maximize time.
Leeches- Beastman Blood (30-40k) a stack, these leeches all spawn by the small pools of water on the map.
Goobbue- Tree Cuttings, Boyhada Moss- These Goobbue have set spawn points, be sure to mark them on your map, so you can hit them up easily. NPC the Moss and sell the Cuttings for about 6-10k dependant on the server.
Crawlers- Silk Thread- goes for about 18-20k a stack nowadays. These crawlers all spawn by the trees, which are pretty obvious in the zone, when you look around. Silk can be a rare drop, but 20k for a stack is a good pay off.
Thunder and Water Elementals- If you have a mule, this can make you considerable amounts of money, just bazzar these water clusters by the Cooking Guild in Windurst, or Alchemy guild in Bastok. Thunder can just be sold.
Malboro- Sell the vines for a good 800g-1k, sells quickly in Bastok and Sandy.
The Plan
#If Gooby bags are done this will be a lot easier and theif 15 is a must for a sub. Being 40+ or 50+ makes farming a lot quicker and more productive.
Start at the zone line and work your way on the road, being sure to visit every pool and Tree on your way, check for weather effects, and basically just kill everything you see there ^_^

Antican Essedarius: Mythril Beastcoins (steal), Antican Robe (for desynth).

Strategy: Attack Anticans to steal your drops. After the battle (or during) flee to the Rabao zone. Use nomad moogle to heal and reset Steal and Flee timers. Repeat.

Eeeeh..... that's not exactly the most courteous thing to do. Continually train anticans to the zone ^^; Whatever works i guess, but good guide, anyways :)

You included one of my favorite places: Delkfutt. However, you say to farm gigas. Actually i find that farming magic pots and dolls in lower and middle to be my best money there. There are several rooms that pop 2 pots and several that pop 3-6 dolls. Doll shards are rare but worth over 30k/stack and pot shards are 18k-20k/stack and they drop much more. Both types of mobs also drop mercury which is up to 9k/stack in Jeuno on Pandy. What I do there is kill all the dolls/pots in an area then kill gigas omw to the other rooms where they pop. as a 58 drk/29 thf i can make really good money doing this.

That is a good point.

I have never personally farmed here, I am relaying information - My friend who is a 60 PLD/THF can farm here extremely effectively, and am just relaying what he told me - I definately plan to farm there, since the money is pretty consistant from what he has told me, and there is rarely anyone farming there.

Out of curiousity, and an out of the blue question... do you know what the Northern Fur's are for? I got some doing the run up to the top for Rank 4, and sold them... but I am sure that you must have gotton a few farming there - any idea what they are for other than putting on the AH for 1k or so? =P

Absolutely right on both counts. I updated the Wadi stuff. As for the Shield Pendant I must have been thinking of the Stropers in Ordelles when I wrote it. Stropers drop Pendant, Marlboros drop Headband, hehe got it ;)

That's actually a valid point. The biggest danger would be other players getting Antican aggro while the ant is pathing back from zoneline. I'm going to have to think of some kind of disclaimer to put on that one.

Actually, I think the idea when farming these is to kill them. You can only successfully steal once per mob anyway, so if you leave them alive and just flee to the zone, you're going to run out of anticans near Rabao fairly quickly. I think he just mentioned fleeing to the zone mid-fight as an option if you bit off more than you could chew.

Ya, that makes sense to me. And it solves the dilemma. I just took out the parethetical (or during battle). TY ;)
