Then go here - http://www.square-enix.com/sei/index.htm

and hover your mouse over Corporate and then click on employment.

This has been a public service announcement by Haggan and Allakhazam.com (with thanks to Square-Enix).

It is nice to see they are forcing all GM's to be fluent in both languages. I got a job notice for GM's back on 7/29/04. Good stuffs.

Bellevue is only 3 hours away from Portland :P

Use to live in Issaquah which is not even 4 minutes away from Bellevue and now live down in Portland. So commute isn't that bad ;)

And working for SE would be pretty cool if only their standards werent so high.

Hmm.... I wonder if there are jobs where you get to rate video games or play them before they come out yet? If so.... anyone know of how to get in on that?

Don't take the Chocobo Pimp offers unless you like having freaky sex all day and getting paid for it, I mean who would.

Yes there is, gaming magazines usually get advance copys so the review comes out when the game comes out.

Yes on both. For rating games, you'd look at one of the major game review sites (Gamespot, IGN, etc.), or one of the major gaming magazines (CGM, CGW, GamePro, etc.). For playing games before they come out, there's Beta Testing games. Best bet for this is looking on the major game producer sites.

However, before you get all excited, these jobs are not all fun and games. For game rating, you have to play ALL of the games that you are assigned, not just the ones you want to rate. That includes the terrible ones. So for every Final Fantasy X you have to play (and make decent progress in), you'll have a Superman 64 type game to play as well.

Beta Testing is a little different. You'll be testing an unfinished product. (And in the case of a PC game, you'll be testing it on crap systems so you can get system requirements.) That means there will be tons of bugs, your saves might get deleted quite often, and quite often you will be working very long hours.

Tell me about it, I playtest for Ubisoft Montreal from time to time, and I got the "privilege"to playtest Myst 4 in pre-alpha stage.....

Ugh...

2d graphics and some weird sprites in a game based on graphics, 100 hours of headache fun! But it was cool, albeit confusing sometimes because some visual clues had not been implemented yet ^^

and as much as it seems impossible, playing that many different games for that long day in and day out...you WILL get sick of it...
