Kiyo’s Uber-mule Guide:

No problem, Scamplix not bad guy. Scamplix is good guy, sells stuff to adventurers. Scamplix got lots of good stuff for you.

-Scamplix

Goblins don’t lie. I am going to teach you just what a good guy Scamplix is- after you read this that little rascal goblin is going to be your best friend. He is the key to getting 150% as much space to store items on your mules.

The average mule has 80 slots for items (50 Mog Safe + 30 Personal = 80). I will show you how to get a mule with 120 slots for items- and do it for ~10,000 gil.

Scamplix sells Water Jugs for 180 gil if you have level 9 fame, 219 if you have none (I think ^^). Each Water Jug provides 2 storage spaces. This will give you a net gain of one space to store items. So- buy a ton of Water Jugs from Scamplix and get yourself an UBER MULE for a very reasonable price.

Maybe your math is quick and you realized that 50 Water Jugs would get you more space than that. Well, after buying 50 Water Jugs and placing them all in my mule’s Mog Safe I still only had 80 Storage, therefore 40 Water Jugs is the maximum benefit. So the final calculation after placing all of those Water Jugs in your Mog Safe and turning your Mog House into a Mog Warehouse is 80 Storage + 10 Mog Safe + 30 Personal = 120 slots to store items. This will cost you (at most) 219 x 40 = 8760 gil. Sure beats doing the Mog Safe expansions for your mule or buying Chests for ~2000 on the AH huh?

Notes: I believe that Rabao goes on Bastok fame but the AH is connected to San’Doria...go figure. I’ve heard rumors that it is either Sandy or Bastok fame, whichever is higher. But let’s face it, much about fame is still unknown, not even the mighty Tekkub’s fame post will help you figure a lot of stuff out.)

After this your new uber-mule will have a Water Moghancement and be swimming in overwhelming water energy. I am interested to know if anyone can find a way to tweak this to a Fishing Moghancement easily- many people would love that. Also, I am interested to know if there is a limit of 80 storage, or 40 storage items. Could someone w/ a large storage item see if they can break the 80 cap?

“But wait Kiyo!” I hear you say, “What did you do with the extra 10 Water Jugs?” Do you remember the hilariously ironic NPC who says that there has to be some get rich quick scheme in middle-of-nowhere Rabao? Well, he told me that since Padded Caps got nerfed his botting he’s been AHing Water Jugs for 7-800 gil a piece. Turns out they sell worldwide at that price and go fairly quickly. Mine were gone overnight. Ain’t item scalping grand?

So there you go, not only have I told you how to get a 150% storage uber-mule, but provided a bottom of the food chain gil method as well. And here you thought that Rabao was all dried up since the Padded Cap nerf….

Special thanks to Arick on Fairy for stopping fishing long enough to check exactly what Scamplix says for me.

Excellent idea for a guide. Good info.

I guess if you're really bored and have all the cash in the world, you can Mog House Expansion + Gobbie bag your mule as well (With a little fame help of course).

You should be able to easily convert your moghancement water into moghancement fishing by adding one of the following furnishings to your 40 water jugs:

Chest
Coffer
Cabinet
Commode
Armoire

This will give you "filled with water energy" fishing moghancement. What happens is that those 5 furnishings have energy complimentary to the water jugs, but dominate the moghancement that the energy is used towards. Also note that due to the storage space on these items, you only need 38 or 39 water jugs instead of 40.

Last but not least, you can use the furnishing Water Cask to change your moghancement into "filled with water energy" gardening moghancement, but beware that too many flowerpots might reduce you down to "strong energy".

Gergall- thank you buddy. That is exactly what I had expected. (since the furnishing with the highest elemental + that belongs to the dominat element is the one that determines the Moghancement). I was assuming that a Commode or such would instantly give the many mule fishers out there a dream come true. I just spent so much time writing the guide that I was too lazy to go confirm it myself. I apologize for the few holes in my guide (exact fame info, exact pricing schema) Rate-up-bump for you!

You also imply that there really is an 80 STG limit, regardless of how leet the furniture you use is- have you confirmed this?

And thanks to the person who rated me down so that my opening note would be useless. (I'm serious, not sarcastic. I find it humorous- and it's not like I am grinding my teeth into nubs over my karma problems).

So let me get this straight for me and some other people:

35 water jugs
+
10 pots for plants
-------------------
45 spots taken in mog safe
-------------------
80 storage now
-------------------
crazy enhancement gardening now with 5 spots left to get the harvest and to add crystals for feeding. And any mog house expansions is just an added bonus.

Not a bad investment I guess I will do this tonight.

For your main character I'd do this same hting, but I'd do it a bit more expensively.

Use Armor Boxes. Like 9k at the stor ein sandoria, not sure how much at AH.

They give +2 water and moghancement fishing, also give three storage spaces. The poster here made it seem you can max out only 80 storage spots max, if so then get your 80 and stop, if there is no cap, just keep piling them in.

Here is why this is for your main: For fishing leave as is. The immense water element this will give should give you fishing enhancement. For XP'ing or questing throw in a simple bed. It's +3 water and give moghancement expeireince. I've seen a few posts that seem to indicate higher element levels gives more xp back when you die. Not sure if it's true... but at least you cna easy give yourself the boost when doing risky stuff!

Just to make it clear, yes there is a cap on Storage. You can only have 80 storage spaces maximum.

To me this is gonna be perfect for my Bastok mule that all they do is garden an AH. With the added bonus to gardening and the more space I can hold alot more plus and hopefuly get good crops.

The reason I'd never do this for my main character is that having things in Storage is a pain in the bum. You're always going to end up wanting *something* that's in there, like the guy who had all his Beastman's Seals in storage when we were forming a BCNM party in Jeuno. Or you'll want to work on your low-level RNG a bit while in San d'Oria (because you can get support for making arrows), but find that you left that Wing Pendant in storage in Windurst.

This is the same reason I don't garden on my main character any more; I can't leave them in Rabao, Kazham, Valkurm, etc. if I'm done for the day and I'm just going to go right back there the next. Gardening and storage are far more convenient with guaranteed homebodies.

'Hero' fame in Rabao, and I'm able to purchase them for 180gil each. Best 7,200gil I've spent in a while.

Nice tip, new or not =D

I know this is old but I'm going to reply to it anyways.

People are asking if there is a limit of 40 items or a limit of 80 spots.

I can confirm that it's a limit of 80 spots. All the uber furnature does is allow you to hit that 80 point faster.

I had 40 water pots, and I decided that 80 was not enough on my mule so I bought a armor box which does 3 per slot and fits in the exact same space as the water pot. I should have had 81 spots available but I still only had 80.

Which really sucks :P

Interesting post, Although i do hope people realize that the Fishing Moghancement except for the one you can get from fisher guild increases your change of catching items not fish.
