Have you tried trading the Remnants to the Memory Fluxes?

Not much hope for that though, I read on a Japanese website that the Memory Fluxes spawn NMs for later Promathia Missions.

Also in your "why should I be interested in Promyvion" you should mention that the Level 50 Job Specific Equipment quest requires drops from the Tavnazia area that cannot be obtained anywhere else. So if you want this piece of equipment, you have to do them. Also it's quite easy to make it to the top with a single party of 6 now.

A few members of my ls have been working on the Dem Craig we found that it was easyier to do it with 6 ppl vs 12 or 18 we also found that the DRK WS soul eater i think its called ill double check and post back does alot of dmg to the MR more than nukes or ranged attacks..so the drk would fight strays till 100% tp and run up and smack it w/that skill.

Great guide..I do have one question me and a few others won at dem a few days ago, we went right back in to help anthor pt out, and our rdm said that it seamed as if we were doing more dmg, the thought it was do to the key item light of dem that we recived anythoughts on that?

Is it possible to go up to the boss with any decent pt, and if you have all 3 animas per person, and still win?

For example,

WAR/THF
PLD/WAR
BLM/WHM
BLM/WHM
WHM/BLM
SMN/WHM

Thoughts?

Confirmed that multiple alliances can attack the Memory Receptacles without calling for help.

The entire run is actually quite a bit easier with multiple alliances helping each other out. Call for help on the normal enemies, and assist each other with the Memory Receptacles.

More info from your friendly neighborhood Primal:

I've noticed that many people can't tell which colors are which in the Empties. This is important because like all heavily elemental-based mobs, some spells will do major damage and some will be strongly resisted. It's especially important to know when fighting upper tier Weepers because they use a WS based on their element, which can be reduced by casting the proper Bar spell. Wingchild did a very good job of describing each elemental 'core', but for the more visually based learners out there here are pics of each element. (Wingchild- feel free to directly copy these links to the main post)

Dark
Earth
Fire
Ice
Light
Thunder
Water
Wind

As far as the NM Remnant drops, I still don't know what they're used for, but I do know what they're not used for:
-They cannot be traded to the anima NPC in Jeuno. I've tried trading 2,000g > 10,000g as well.
-They cannot be traded to the Memory Flux on the 4th Floor (never went back down to try the 2nd Floor Flux though).

I just did Dem and Holla last night

It was a breeze with a 6 person party, fun too. Basically I widescanned for the MR's and we avoided fighting whenever poosible.

War/Nin
War/Nin
Blm/Whm
Whm/Blm
Smn/Whm
Rng/Nin

the more Ranger/Ninja's you have the easier

try not to have a mage heavy PT, the last boss will likely tax a Tarutaru Blm's MP completely.

the last fight with Anima's is a joke, goes from a little bit tricky to, does he do anything?

if you have 3 anima's it's a smooth ride.

Just finished my Holla and got Tavnazian access last night. Party was WAR/NIN MNK/WAR RNG/NIN RNG/NIN WHM/BLM SMN/WHM Died once after tossing 5 animas and all our 2hrs into the Holla boss, then after eject and raise, we went in and beat it with 1 Anima and no 2hrs. With the Ranger output it wasn't that hard to kill the boss. Tedious and slow, but we took him down eventually. Main idea is to keep awake as possible and keep the RNGs/Spellcasters out of AOE range. As long as you deal damage to him at a steady clip he will go down eventually, even with no 2hrs to use.

Edit: Oh yeah, with the weakened Memory Receptalces, our alliance found it FAR easier for the Rangers to clear strays(which they could easily kill in one hit) while the meeles fought the MR. Meele damage output combined with SMN and Ranger output makes them fly by in under 30 seconds.

I had not walked into a Prom. zone untill after the December 8 Patch, so I don't have any prior experience.

Currently my only experience is farming on the first level.

This information is perfect, and is giving me the confidance to try this BCNM battle in the near future.

First of all: This is an AWESOME and EXTREMELY helpful thread. Thank you all very much for the information, and thanks to Wingchild for putting it all together. Rate ups ^^

Just to add, in case it hasn't been mentioned: If a party that is not in your alliance defeats an MR before you even get there, the portal remains open after they go through, and your party can jump in (completely skipping the MR battle and search for a real portal).

I know this because my LS (GO CoveredinBees!!!) had an outing to Promyvion-Dem last Sunday. We got to where a MR should have been, instead there was a portal. We jumped in, and after porting, met up with the party that had just defeated it and were resting. We thanked them for the unexpected treat, and moved on ^^ We ended up beating the boss, first try, with no Animas... even though I died while spamming Barrage, EES, WS, etc...
Party setup for the battle:

BLM/WHM
WHM/BLM
RNG/NIN
RNG/WAR (me)
SMN/WHM
NIN/WAR (also died during boss battle)

This was the first time most of us had tried the emptiness, and I think next time we will use Animas to make it go more smoothly.

Do the animas effects stack? i.e. useing the one that stops attacks and the one that uses WS's at the same time?

If nobody has noticed yet, when you kill a 'real' MR, the teleport does not appear until all the strays have been killed as well. So you no longer have to feel rushed to kill everything once the MR is down.

I just got back from a disastrous Promyvion-Dem expidition. Apparently there are people who do not know what they're doing. I guess there's a few lessons to be listed out for people

1) Be leveled!

A 30 white mage / 11 black mage is not good. It probably not good that I wasn't leading the setup, because that kind of nonsense is just stupifying. Not only is the mage missing out on four levels of black mage, but it's insulting to anyone in the group that takes the time to be prepared.

2) Be dressed!

In my one party alone, there were three people without a full compliment of gear. I'm not saying that the mages didn't have morion's tathlum or something like that, I mean people missing leg armor, boots, gloves, rings, and wearing santa hats. Our warrior was without a belt. I was foolish enough to get gear for two of the three people (the third left Jeuno before I could get her something). It's not unreasonable to have a full set of clothing for Promyvion. Also, if someone provides gear for you, return it! Only the warrior had the decency to return what I gave out, good thing I didn't get anything of high value. And again, santa hats are not acceptable headgear.

3) Be prepared!

The spire is not the time to find out that you forgot poison potions. If you are a mage and you see two people nearby making pineapple juice as fast as possible, make sure you have juice. For pete's sake this is a hard fight, don't go in like your a level 75 fighting a wild rabbit. Before you leave Jeuno, check that you have food, juice/au laits, potions, medicines.

4) Be practiced!

One of the worst things I heard from people in the group was "I don't usually use this job." I don't accept that as an excuse. It's not an excuse for gear, it's not an excuse for preparedness. Don't bring a job into the party if you don't like to or know how to use it. If you don't like a job, you'd better not bring it into my Promyvion party, I want people to know what they're doing.

Helped a friend last night with Dem.

DRG/WAR
RNG/NIN
PLD/WAR
BLM/WHM
BLM/WHM
SMN/WHM

One anima used, Hysteroanima (prevented weapon skills for 30 seconds, I think).

I was the seventh member, a White Mage raise *****, as I already have the Promyvions done.

One full wipe on the fourth floor due to two IT aggro, but it was very, very close (or so I'm told, I logged out so I could log back in and raise if needed).

Strays were stupidly easy - our Ranger one-shotted them several times - and every MR we killed left behind a portal.

If melees stand by the MR with their backs to one of the pillars surrounding it, Empty Seed will still hit them, but they will not be knocked back and can melee the MR. Since Empty Seed was weakened (60 damage to me now as WHM/BLM, used to be 100), this is an easily viable strategy. Any job is useful in Promyvion now, pretty much.

Yes, we brought a DRAGOON. Thank you, SE, for making the needed jobs more forgiving.

I can confirm that, not only can you go into Promyvions after completing all three, you can do the BCNM as well. It works like the Rank 3 dragon fight. As long as at least one member hasn't beaten the BCNM the whole party can enter. (someone who hasn't won needs to go in first.)

I'm sure everyone is aware what happens when you defeat the NM.

If it is your first time beating it you are placed outside the crag. (i.e. Beat Mea, placed in Tahrongi Canyon.)
If you have beaten it before but have not beaten at least one other you will be placed outside the crag. (i.e. Beat Mea twice, but have not beaten Dem or Holla, placed in Tahrongi Canyon.)
If you finish your third you are sent to Tavnazia (i.e. Beat Holla after beating Dem and Mea, placed in Lufaise Meadows.)

But what happens if you've completed all three already?

Unlike every other situation, you remain inside the BCNM. You have two options, you may either leave through the entrance and go back out to the Spire, or you can exit the Crag entirely by using a portal that spawns in the center of the BCNM.

Why this is important.

This means that a person who has finished the Promyvions could do the BCNM multiple times without needing to climb the entire crag to do it!
For example: An 11 person alliance could go through the Crag to get to the Spire and both parties would be able to have 6 members when facing the BCNM. The member that has completed the Promyvions would go in with the first group, defeat the BCNM and exit into the Spire to join the 2nd group for another BCNM run.
This would be most effective for a white mage or a tank, as those are the jobs least likely to use their two hours.

The only hard part is finding someone who has beaten all three Promyvions and is willing to spend the time and gil on Two Promyvion BCNMs. ^^;

I don't know, and to be safe, I don't want to find out. It is better to spread anima use out over time. Any one anima will make the NM into a punching bag for several seconds, there's no need to double up.

Just finished Holla last night, man that fight is nuts. After going 0/3 (with japanese parties, go figure), I went with some people who were very knowledgable and had the right idea. We went in with NINE anima, and I blasted out some mad gil on potions for everyone. We won, and suffered no casualties, although the mages were deep into reserves and I saw the white mage use one of them 25k ethers I got him. Only got Mea to do, which I hear isn't quite as bad as Holla. The custom Mea mobs look like War of the Worlds. Creepy.

I've read most of the thread, but not all, so if this has been said already, I apologize.

during a farming run in Promyvion: Holla recently, it was my first time going very far in, and I was playing my mani, THF. I was having much success SATA + Fast Blading the emptys, hitting for 200-350 SATA w/out FB, 300-500 with Fast Blade. This was all on the first floor, and once we went up, things of course cooled out damage wise.

But, when we reached the Memory Receptacle on the first floor, asked people in my LS if it was possible to SATA the MR. They said they'd never tried, and didn't know if it had a front and back. So we decided to give it a shot, the WAR running up and Provoking the MR, the NIN and I running behind to set up the SATA. We did this quickly, as an Empty Seed would blow us all out of position.

Once the WAR had hit it a few times, I cracked out SATA + Fast Blade, for 750 damage^^.

Seems like you can SATA the Memory Receptacle if someone is holding hate in the front, and have a partner. Next time, I'd like to have tank gain TP, and WS into SATA + Fast Blade right off the bat for more damage.

great thread btw

2 things:
1)You def dont have to kill all the strays to let the MR spawn.
2)Here are 2 links to my Promyvion experiences (1st details successful Dem and unsuccessful Mea, 2nd is successful Holla):
