Once there were three brothers.Follow

The oldest, like all oldest brothers, is somewhat envious of the spoiling the younger two receive, and often thinks he's too mature to hang out with his younger brothers' friends---even when he does, he doesn't understand half the new toys and TV shows they're talking about. But when they need help, he's often there; and he's always willing to share his experience in life to help them, if they'd just wait until he was done with what he was doing.

The middle brother is envious of both his older brother, already with the privileges of age like "use of the car" and "a later curfew"; and the younger brother, who's spoiled to the extent of being given freely toys the middle brother had to deliver newspapers for. Occasionally he gets bitter about how both the others seem to have it better, and goes into a funk about how Father dislikes him, but usually he's happy to work together with the others, although the older's constant talk of dates and cars annoys him.

The youngest brother is still little, but makes a point of being "closer to the middle than the middle is to the oldest", and big for his age anyway, so often says that he's about as old as the middle brother. He's annoyed when he's thought of as as young as he is. He hasn't matured enough yet for anyone to be sure how he'll interact with the other two when he's grown.

Did the three of them all have FFXI accounts or something?

Edit: Kudos to Nanashi and RPGr for making sense of this for me (look down). The phrases "use of the car" and "a later curfew" let me to believe that this was not a metaphor but rather a tale of three brothers with some brotherly issues. Over my head, how embarassing.

Do half of you people rating him up even understand the reference, or just going with the flow.

I'll give you a hint: It really has nothing to do with brothers at all.

I don't think it's so subtle that it is over everyone's head...

for those who REALLY can't get the reference... this quote is the easiest one to catch... both geographically and anthropologically.

So what you are saying is that if your LS breaks you should try to make one yourself instead of joining another so as to avoid the reoccuring dissapointment of unexpected separation?

Translation:

Older brother= players who are higher level

Middle = players who are mid-level

Youngest = players low level.

Father = SE

The "oldest" being mostly JP, are the ones who spent alot of time figuring out all the things and doing it the hard way and giving out a helping hand. These guys also paid tooth and nail for their equipment when they were at the peak of the price range.

"Middle" mostly if not all the PC NA (at launch), these guys had it easier than the first but are just about catching up in terms of overall experience (1 job to 75 does not make you an experienced player if you havn't played at least 1 of every type of job to a decent level). Perhaps to an extent, some PS2ers NA fall into this category as well.

Youngest, a good chunk of NA PS2ers as well as the newly arrived EU players.

Note: this translation goes by release date of FF 11, people who join out of synch fall into differeing categories depending on alot of things but I'm sure you get the general idea.
