Wow, you actually looked at this? /sigh.

I just thought since there is a requirement to start a thread about these every couple of days, I'd just save space and put them all in one post. Now we don't have to repeat all the same threads over again this week, right?

Thanks

Christ so I was playing as a RDM/NIN when this JP /checked me and asked me how I got all my gil and I said it was because I know the guy that already has the Blue Mage which I know they're adding and he's totally rich. I wish that the the's JPs would stop /checking people and asking for gil, or at least the GMs would do something about it.

Agreed on the spam deal. What the hell happened to these forums? I joined back near release for PC, made my first post and haven't stopped since. The forums used to be very informative, but now any subject that comes up gets flamed into oblivion. If a subject comes up that has been done to death, please, PLEASE just some premium member come in, search for the answer, and link it. We don't need another ******* person coming into a thread and going "omg is teh undead-chohorsebo." It was funny and cute the first time, now it's worse than the repeated topics.

We aren't all premium members, many of us don't want to spend the extra money, myself included (for the time being.) We don't all have the search function, and we don't have the time to sift through 400 pages of topics to find our answer. Please, if the premium members can lay off the "dead horse" track and throw out a link, it would be greatly appreciated by both me, and many fellow forumers.

Lastly, why do people insist on complaining and making new threads? Can't people realize that the more pointless threads that we have on the front page, the more potentially informative stuff that COULD be there gets knocked off? Like the BCNM30 thread earlier - it didn't get the coverage it deserved because too many people were making crap threads about karma, and about "the lack of good topics" and other such things. The solution to every one of these problems has nothing to do with admins, and everything to do with the forumers themselves. We need to regulate on our own, and the only way to do that is to quit complaining and do our best to help out and fix what's broke.

You know... if I could single handedly rate posts to 5, I would do so to GreyDaze and Algos.

Given that I do use the "dead horse" line on repeat topics if I'm the first to reply, I only use it if a thread on the same topic is still on the first page. I also always provide a link to said thread, so that the person who started the new one can feel free to join in on the conversation there.

As far as karma is concerned, I don't really care what my karma is. I do care, however, that the karma system is being abused by people who only wish to rate people down because of a personal vendetta or a disagreement in opinion.

It's a good system for weeding out those posts and people who are complete morons, who have nothing to offer to this community... but I can agree that it is flawed.

A lot of people ask why this board isn't moderated more... the answer is that we are the moderators, of sorts. That is what the karma system is intended for. For us to be able to get rid of pointless posts and spam.

As far as all of the posts on karma and such, I can agree that these are a double edged sword. The mods do see them, but there have been so many as of late that they are knocking useful and good posts off of the front page... hence, they're not getting the attention deserved. I say we keep them in the feedback forum.

I'm not sure if this was the right thread for my semi-coherent rant, but oh well. I needed a place to do it, and this thread finally got me.

Flame, agree, disagree, do whatever you want. But at least value my opinion.

Have a nice day, everyone. Smiley: smile
