V.E.R.M.I.N.s affiliate lobby group, the A.A.R.P. (Angered Association of non-Redmage Push-asides) has this to say about White Mage Job Security:

DID YOU KNOW...?

That many of Vana'diels White Mages are having their jobs outsourced? In a market know for it's high stability and job security, an ageing population of White Mages may soon be without jobs!

Neoki, a disgruntled Bahamut WHM, has this to say:
"I was level 48, only 7 levels away from retirement when it started happening. The party leader informed me that I'd no longer be needed, and that a Red Mage would be replacing me! The leader said that a Red Mage could do everything I could do just as well until I was level 56! I've found myself lost in an open job-market again, and now I'm simply an unskilled Summoner, working for half the experience I used to get per hour."

This unsettling news comes with rumors that the retirement age for jobs may be pushed back as far as level 80!

Many adventurerers that are only in their twenties or thirties may not think this information is relevant to them, but rest assured, you will hit the retirement age for your job one day! Think now, and join V.E.R.M.I.N. and the A.A.R.P. lobby groups to protect your interests!

DO YOU KNOW of any other issues that may concern your health or wellbeing? Let us know! We care about you!

As a member of R.M.V.W.M. (Red Mages for the Vanquishing of White Mages), I am deeply troubled that V.E.R.M.I.N., well known for its environmental activism, has affiliated with the A.A.R.P.

Everyone knows that Red Mages are the most environmentally aware adventurers in Vana'diel. Our elemental magic points toward a deep kinship with the natural world and all that hippie garbage. Even our AF boots are RECYCLED, ****** old boots that some dead elvaan wore years ago.

White Mages, meanwhile, go around throwing HOLY at things. What is HOLY anyway? It looks oddly like atomic weapons testing to me, and that CERTAINLY isn't in line with with Ducal Munitions Testing Ban of Last February.

Edit: a white mage made me typo.

Reporter>> Rolks here with the 'Person on the Street' interviews today.

Rep>> Excuse me, ma'am.

Woman>> Yes?

Rep>> Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about the latest reports of White Mage downsizing.

Woman>> Sure, but I don't see how it really concerns me.

Rep>> and why is that?

Woman>> Well, see I'm only 21. This downsizing is only happening to those old 48 year olds.

Rep>> Are you a White Mage?

Woman>> Yes. But I dabble in the Red and Black arts too.

Rep>> Does it not concern you that when you turn 48, you just may very well be downsized too.

Woman>> Oh, that is just so far off into the future, why would I ever worry about that. Besides, by that time I will be so uber elite, that everyone will pay just to have an audience with me.

Rep>> What do you think about the A.A.R.P.'s lobbying efforts?

Woman>> Those old people have way too much power in politics. All my good Jeuno taxes keep going to support those old farts. I wish the politicians would stop listening to them.

Rep>> Well they seem to vote more enmass that you newbies do.

Woman>> Yeah, but it's just not fair.

Rep>> Do you vote?

Woman>> No, but my voice should be heard too.

Rep>> Well, there you have it, Sue. The voice on the street, well at least the young population of Vana'diel seems apathetic and unconcerned about the plight of the elderly, but seems concerned about the political clout they wield. Rolks reporting for VNN (Vana'diel News Network). Back to you, Sue.

Reporter: How do you feel about this issue Sir?

Calico: While it doesn't particularly affect my job, why are white mages complaining they can't find jobs, when I can't find any white mages or red mages to hire, regardless of which I'd prefer. In all likelihood, I'd hire one of each for good measure, if I could ever find one.

Personally, I'm more worried about being replaced as a thief when I hit 60, because people assume I'm only around for the purpose of auxilary hate control...

Reporter: Back to you Bob.

Reporter: So Haggan, what do you say about this whole issue?

Me: I don't care as long someone is back there in the back healing me while i'm keeping mobs off their butts.

Studio: Now, in an exclusive interview for VNN, Fawkes the RDM/WHM will talk about recent controversy and attacks between AARP, RMVWM, and the new involvement of TAMRM in this confrontation.

Reporter: Good evening ladies/gentlemen/galkas, I have the pleasure to present to you Fawkes the RDM/WHM from his Mog Beach Manor in Kazham, Alexander. It's a great honor to be able to speak to you sir. Please tell us what do you think of the latest involvemnet between AARP, RMVWM, and TAMRM.

Fawkes: It's my pleasure. About RMVWM, I will like that a rng stick an arrow in their (fun) (hole). Eventhough we RDMs are proud to be called the Jack and Pimps of all trades, we are only the masters of Enfeebles and MP, we don't have the healing power or the time to worry about the tanks HP. We are already worry about the mobs stats going down(and staying there) and the MP bars staying high to worry about the meat shields having high HP. We might help, but I will not stay there and Cure all the battle when the melees are missing like crazy and not making enough damage.

Reporter: I see sir, but what about AARP?

Fawkes: Well, I will agree with their principle, but they are corrupted. It is a shame that many white mages were the principal bullies of Valkrum Elementary and High School. And we can't forget the fact that after we rdms get Refresh at 41, they decide to turn into "Tatical" Mages, better known as the opposite of a pink mage, a grey mage. Those gray mages are the ones infesting the retirement age because they think that they can melee, nuke and Magic Burst with elementals, and don't even mention them about sitting to heal and lossing their tp. Just yesterday I was with one of those, he told me to stay back while he casted silence and paralize/Dia II, while I was forced to cure the tank because the whm was casting Elemental Seal+Stonega. Until the day AARP don't clear themselves of those tatical whms, I will not support them.

Finally, I will like to condemm the last acts of AARP by forcing the BRDs to join them. Those whms want to take off the rdm for a brd so they can be again the most important member of the party. The RDM community has started to feel the damage by being /slap with monster sigmas. I have been victim of three attacks already to my person.

Reporter: Thank you Mr. Fawkes. Is there anything else you will like to add?

Fawkes: Yes, I will like to congratulate TAMRM for there good job. One of their members saved me from that disastrous path, and have cleaned the walls of Gargaille from the scum of RDM/WARS that have very shiny swords but that they don't have idea what Dispel is. But I will like to ask that TAMRM also create a section for the the eradication of those Tactical White Mages.

Reporter: I see sir. Would you be willing to create a new organization to support your ideas?

Fawkes: At the moment, all my streghts are focused on Mithras Gone Wild inc. and comming soon Females Next Door bar/grill. Also, I am trying to create a Males Gone Wild in Windurst so that it could stop the feminist protests lead by female tarus due to their exclusion from FND.

Isnt that the name of the bad guys in the old TV show M.A.S.K.?

Great post keep it up.

DID YOU KNOW...?

That Mithras Gone Wild is actually the second generation product of this company?

The original concept was "Galkas Gone Wild!" but the video flopped in the test markets. Original footage can be found HERE.

EDIT: The Editors of V.E.R.M.I.N. News Weekly would like to thank Rolks and other at VNN for their outstanding news coverage of this event. Excellent work ;)

R.M.V.W.M. Press Release

An R.M.V.W.M. spokeswoman today released a statement condemning the A.A.R.P.'s attempts to seduce the Bards of Vana'diel into an unholy alliance with the White Mages.

"Despite the accusations of the A.A.R.P., the Red Mages of R.M.V.W.M. have no intention of vanquishing any Bards. That is simply not in our mission statement. They, like us, wear foppish clothing and silly hats. They are our brothers and sisters in debuffing and refreshing. And those Monster Signas to the head hurt quite a bit," asserted the spokeswoman, who was herself elegantly attired in crimson.

When asked about T.A.M.R.M.'s admissions of purposeful and ruthless attacks on the poor meleeing Red Mages of Vanadiel, the spokeswoman asserted that she would not normally negotiate with terrorists, especially ones who wore unfashionable green knickers, but that in light of recent developments the two groups might reach an accord provided that T.A.M.R.M. expand its activities to include Trick Attacks on White Mages that say something trite and "cute" every single time they cast cure, Black Mages that run around in new adventurer's gear in the Crawler's Nest, and anyone who speaks in L337.

This just in.....

"All the Samurai are amassing together in an attempt to rally with the A.A.R.P. It seems that Samurai, whom typically roam the country side, alone, feel threatened that their "loner" image might be slighted with the introduction of several White Mages into their ecosystem. One Samurai was quoted as actually feeling quite threatened, stating, "Altana walked alone while pondering the lotus blossum. She did not walk with an out of work White Mage..." "

"The great tacticioners of this day and age have also noted that much like the Yagudo did to the great people of Windhurst, where "We don't need much more land other than Giddeus...", of course ending in a full scale assault on Sarataruba itself, carried all the way to the great walls of the noble city; The RMVWM say they don't intend on vanquishing the bards and song singers of the now, but who knows when their abilities become questioned if they will be next."

This also in...

"It has just been announced that security check points have been stationed at all the Airship ports in every town. Heavy security forces have been placed at Jeuno and even Kazham ports, in order to detain any suspicious looking Red Mages, whom could possibly be a member of the now rebel faction known as R.M.V.W.M. The Grand Duchy of Jeuno has announced that it intends to crack down on the problem; and come down hard it has! Our sources tell us that several Red Mages are now in custodity, and that a list of names has been drawn up to prevent any wolves in sheeps clothing from entering the city."

Announcer: I'm sorry Alesandra, but wolves in sheeps clothing?

"Those whom skirt being another job, such as a White Mage or Summoner, attempting to gain entrance to the cities. It is a subtle infiltration technique that can be used by the cunning members of RVMWM."

"Now, for those of you whom support this cause, please lend a hand or some time to help secure your cities and hunting areas. Don't let the Red Mage "disease" into your life. If you can't give your time, it's not problem. Donations are being accepted by this station and several other volunteers including myself. Please send your gil to:

Reporter>> Ok, we went around asking WHMs, RDMs, even got a SAM and a THF on what they think but what about the other mage jobs?
We tried to interview BLMs before, but they like to warp before we get to ask a question. SMNs just made comments like I am trying to concentrate to lv summoning magic, I been here for 2 hours and not 1 increase in skill, this takes a lot of concertraition. Other SMN's said, “most of the time they can’t find a WHM to main heal they look to hire a SMN/WHM for main healing.” If only I can find an experienced BLM to interview oh wait here is one..
Rambus>> yes
Reporter>>did you read everything on the AARP, RMVMN, and TAMRM?
Rambus>> yes I have
Reporter>> what are you views on each group?
Rambus>> Well, as a BLM sometimes people want you to main cure. I read reports on this then I decided to make a group to fight those situations.
Reporter>> I see and what group would that be?
Rambus>> I call it SSJBM [summer Support Job for black mages] I am here to do damage, not to cure. Shantotto is my BLM idol. It was never said what she subbed but I can tell you this was said in an interview.

"He taught me the only way to be strong was through utter lack of remorse.
To make sure I did not end up like one of those pansy white or barbarian red mages,
He taught me that death and destruction are what truly great black mages contribute to the history pages."
Shantotto, Vana'diel Tribune II Nov. 30, 2004

Rambus>> with that being said there should be a WHM and a RDM in every party. Trying to replace one job for another is wrong. If RDM are trying to replace WHMs in RMVMN what is next? SAMN/RNG to replace RNG main to spam sidewinder?
Rambus>> I need a good RDM to keep it gravity and a good WHM to keep people cured. In the mean time I can blink everyone when needed, so a pansy WHM could take 3 free hits instead of 2.
Reporter>> sounds like you support the AARP.
Rambus>> Yes I do and I don’t like the RMVWM. Sometimes I need a teleport dem or whatever is needed. Every job should be secured.
Every job has a different purpose and the right combination can make you get that chain 6+
Reporter>> and what about TAMRM?
Rambus>> I would support them more if they had a section for melee WHMs as Fawkes called them "grey mages". I met one a while back and it was hurting the party bad. Slow cures did not rest as much. In these situations I will gladly warp, go on /anon say I hit a warp macro by mistake and SATA on that whm when I hit 60 blm.
